I think he gets KOed. I went back and watched some of his fights again and he just does not move his head enough and keeps it held up way to high for an easy target.
I have a feeling this one could end early by KO.
I hope I am wrong!!
Williams has too much pride and as crazy as he is in the ring, I think he has ring smarts. He's trained for the fight of his life and who knows, he just might be the second coming of Hearns. He's huge with a long reach, height, and has power. I think he'll give Margarito a lot of problems but if Margarito solves the puzzle and is able to get inside, he could easily chop Williams down. I'm still going with Williams on this one, that and the fact that I can't stand Margarito's bitching and complaining about everyone fearing him and then he barely fights and when he does, he looks like shit(Clottey). No excuse that he hadn't fought in awhile. That kind of performance doesn't make him look dangerous or like the most feared. You know what the truth is? He isn't a big name at all in America, won't bring money, has the power to change a fight he may be losing, and thus nobody wants to risk it against him. He's a high risk low reward fighter. Shit, I wouldn't want to face him either. Williams on the other hand is up and coming and has the perfect opportunity to get rid of Margarito and catapult himself into the elite.
Wow, Lampley just said similar things that I mentioned in this post, within like 20 seconds.
I actually like Jantuah and he does have mad power but a guy who is at a certain level shouldnt lose to him. Im not ripping Santons. I also like him and the way he boxes but I do think he has benefited from a cupcake resume.
Again, Im also not picking Williams. This is 1 fight that I said is a guaranteed FOTY, and maybe the fight of the decade. I have no ideal who will win. Im completely right down the middle in this one just for the simple fact that you dont know nothing about Williams. He could be a freak and the next Hearns or he could be another Cintron. I definatly dont think he's Cintron though so thats not a good comparison. I never liked Cintron even when people were hyping him. He just seemed like he had power but nothing else. He couldnt put punches together, had bad balance, and seems somewhat uncoordinated. Thats why I think Williams will still be better then him. I do think it could be more like a Tito-Vargas situation where he was rushed too early. You can see that he has talent but will never be as good as he couldve been. On the other hand I think he could straight up abuse Margarito. I just dont know but I know it will be great for however long it last.
I also said that I was just taking up for Williams for a second because I actually feel kind of like the people who think if Mathysee did that then so could Margarito times 10 but who knows. There both very flawed but they both have amazing offenses
What will Margarito do if Paul attempts to box and move against him? Paul is faster on his feet and has better handspeed. His defense is garbage though.
"DLT
I disagree. I think Williams is much more talented. Santos is solid but he never fought anyone and he got KO by Jantuah. Now just because your talented doesnt make you a good fighter."
if santos has fought anyone what does that say about williams record
ur right just because ur talented doesnt make u a good fighter
but i believe santos is still more talented than williams based on experience and technique
williams definetly has more physical tools and a great punch output but i wouldnt say that equal talent
margarito a tall welter with great punch output but i wouldnt say hes talented
and getting knockout by kofi doesnt take away the fact that santos is more talented williams.
williams hasnt face anyone that punches as hard as kofi
and zab got knock by kostya but im pretty sure hes still a talented
i dont really think much of santos but i just dont believe williams is more talented than him
people keep saying williams throws straight punches....so did cintron..cintron is a harder hitter than williams and doesn't hook his punches ..he throws very straight...what margarito does is keep his long arms up and blocks straight punches with no problem...clottey hooked his punches and that was the difference on why he connected ...i see williams panicking as the fight goes on...margarito will win this fight then it's cotto
Cintron cant put punches together. Williams can throw pretty much every combination.
I'm picking Margarito to win anyway.

Anybody else smell Tuna?...........
I don't see how that's a knock in the slightest bit.
There are only a handful of people in boxing who's power compares to Kofi.
Exactly. I hate when people rag on a fighter because he got tagged by a hard hitting "unknown". Automatically they start shouting "exposed!" when in reality there's only a small amount of guys out there who work as hard, or hit as hard as a guy like Jantuah. Demarcus Corley is another prime example of this, when he rocked Cotto.
and he got KO by Jantuah.

The past fights is the big thing to me. They always bring up the Mathysee fight and picture Margarito doing that and killing him. You could just as easy look at the Santos fight or the first 4 rounds of the Clottey fight and say the exact same thing. Espically Santos since he's a tall southpaw. He's much bigger then Williams but Williams is much more talented.
williams in not more talented than santos
santos fought in the olympics and think he won a bronze medal
williams is a tall fighter who fights aggressive and lets his hands go he doesnt have solid technique
i dont see how u can say hes more talented than santos
hes definetly more entertaining but not talented this is a big step up in class for williams i hope he doesnt get blown out so people will right him off as being exposed
because i like watching him fight
I disagree. I think Williams is much more talented. Santos is solid but he never fought anyone and he got KO by Jantuah. Now just because your talented doesnt make you a good fighter. Alot of guys with talent suck. Alot of guys with talent cant get to the next level like Zab. However, I do think he is definatly more talented then Santos
Margarito will TKO Williams wait and see. The only reason Margarito is not a superstar right now is because he has a couple early losses and those to Daniel Santos. Since then he is a completly devastating wreck ball.
Yeah I've picked Tony by stoppage since day one. But.
I can easily see how Williams could make the fight difficult because of his straight punches and willingness to trade. If he gets off first it could change the complexity of the fight......but I think Williams has to establish a rhythm early because if he lapses he's going to get beat up.
Tony doesn't stop fighting and he's really durable. I'm pulling for him to win this fight in impressive fashion because if anyone deserves some credit for once it's him.........I've never seen a fighter with more people hating on him, ever.
I wouldn't hate on him if it wasn't for all his complaing he's done about nobody wanting to fight him. It's not really that nobody wants to fight him, it's that the Oscar and Floyd's($$$) of the world don't want to be in for a hard fight with little reward. Instead of calling them out over and over, he could have kept fighting anyone just to stay busy, grow a bigger market, and prove himself better. He hasn't done anything significant yet and beating Williams probably won't look like much to many because Williams hasn't been really tested neither. I just hope if Margarito wins tonight, he does it impressively. Last thing I want is a close fight with Margarito winning a SD. I dun care how Williams wins but I want Margarito to win by KO if it happens. Yeah and I'm rooting for Williams in this fight, I like his attitude.
Paul will have to show lots of movement to avoid getting ripped to the body, I think.
If he doesn't make his jab a priority, there's no telling how he'll end up.:boxing:
Floyd gets hated on way more than margarito, and the reason tony gets hated on because he hasnt beaten any great his whole career. Williams is much more talented than santos, hes the most accurate volume punchers in boxing, and has alot of speed for his size, the only way I see margarito winning this fight is by ko.
that's right but he just doesn't take advantage of that, his gameplan is not to jab is just to throw bombs after bombs until he gets hurt, after he gets hurt he is gonna start thinking a lil bit more....
Margarito will score. But he too slow to unload his best shots against Williams in my opinion. Williams will use his reach as well and give him a 12 round pounding.
The deciding factor will be how Paul handles Tony's punches.
He can certainly go down from a good shot.
If he can withstand Tony's shots, then he can last the distance:boxing:

Pretty good and interesting points.
I'll add that, strangely, Paul moves quite well for his size.
His speed should be a factor.:boxing:
