Promoter Frank Warren claims he has overcome "all the major obstacles" to getting Joe Calzaghe in the ring with Mikkel Kessler later this year.
Talks have been taking place for weeks with a view to getting the super-middleweight unification fight on, but Warren now claims there are only "a few loose ends to tie up".
Calzaghe has held the WBO title for 10 years while Kessler is the undefeated WBC and WBA champion.
Writing on his official website, Warren said: "It now seems almost certain that Joe Calzaghe will fight Mikkel Kessler on November 3 in Cardiff.
"I've just got a few loose ends to tie up - including some with Joe - but all the major obstacles have now been overcome.
"Most importantly of all, I've agreed terms with Kessler's team, who are happy to come to the UK.
"The fight will probably be held at the Millennium Stadium, where we got a crowd of 35,000 for Calzaghe's WBO super-middleweight title defence in April against Peter Manfredo Jr.
"With Kessler bringing his WBA and WBC titles to the party, I expect at least 60,000 to be in attendance. As a result, both fighters will be getting career-high purses."
It'll be on TV, it's just a matter of the promoters accepting the fact that the fight is not worth as much as they might think. There's other shit happening, the American boxing public is not going to sit around and wait for this
Your right, maybe Im just one of the few Americans that's really looking forward to this fight.

I sure hope Warren isn't just talking out of his ass and all this is true. Who's going to be showing this HBO or Showtime here in America. If either don't put up the money for it, there missing out on a great fight and quite possibly the best matchup out there in any weight class.
Do the business for the UK, Joe!
I expect 50,000 + for the fight at the Millenium Stadium. Just out of curiosity, what's the biggest crowd for a fight in America and when was it held last?
