Show me your scorecards for Klitschko-Brewster II. What a damn difficult fight to score. I had no idea who was ahead after round 6!
But seriously, did anybody bother scoring Simms-Alcine? I'm in the process of doing it now and the scores of the press row and Al Bernstein and the judges are all over the place. I'll post mine as soon as I'm finished, but I think everybody should try to score that one. It's one of those fights where I could accept almost any card somebody put up because it was that damn tough.
My RBR.
1.10-9 Simms.
Pretty cagey round but TS looking to land more.
2.Even second. They are waiting on each other and no-one is getting into a rythym.
Simms moving backwards all of the round looking to catch Alcine coming in.
3.10-9 Alcine. landing straight rights for the first time and Simms looking wild with single shots.
4.Alcine 10-9. Scrappy and uneventful so far.
Lots of tying up, holding, foot tangles . . .
5.Even 5th. Crowd booing.
Two counter punchers looking to counter punch but not punching much so mainly just looking at each other . . .
6.9-9 Alcine's round but docked a point for hitting on the break?!?!?! Didn't see that, harsh.
Better body work from Alcine. Simms hasn't atken a forward step so far.
7. 10-9 Simms. Threw more punches and landed some decent ones. He threw a combination too!
Better round. Referee warns Simms for holding hence better round.
8. 10-8 Alcine. Point docked from |Simms for holding . . . 6 rounds too late IMO.
The body work by Alcine and Simms' inactivity might make for a good ending to the fight.
9. 10-8 Alcine. KD for Simms looked soft, like a slip.
Still holding any time he can
10. 10-9 Alcine. Agressive and landing more.
11. 10-9 Alcine. Simms looks like he wants a bum-bum with the Canadian, he's holding all the time. Ref deducted a point earlier but it hassn't stopped him at all.
12. 12th round. Meh. Alcine again. Simms went orthordox and ate the jab most of the round. There was less holding opportunities when they were both righties.
IMO Alcine clearly won the fight but will Simms' hometown advantage have a say . . . probably.
Ref should've followed up on the point deduction for holding but didn't mention it again even though Simms did it just as often.
Rubbishy fight like.
I had it 117-108 for Alcine.
2 rounds to Simms and 2 even.
Simms looked all out of ideas.
Im serious. I wasn't lsitening to the HBO commentary or anything. He was jabbing alot but wasn't throwing the right hand. Brewster was slipping alot and trying to bang to the body.
Don't know the round, but the compu box stats were at 28 for Brewster to 108 to Klitschko.
Isn't there two simms? Which simms was it...was it the simms that was up against....that Mexican fighter scully trained...Rivera I think his name was.
Yeah, it was Travis
How was Alcine? Entertaining style or what? I didnt get to see the fight.
He's more exciting than Simms and had Simms intimidated most of the fight. Once he pushed the fight after about round 3 or 4, he was much more appealing than Simms.
Simms is one of those guys that thinks you can box and move against everybody, and it doesn't work like that when a guy ambushes you. Simms may have landed the cleaner punches in every round, but Alcine pushed hard and caught him all over the body in some rounds.

He hit Brewster with damn near every jab he threw. The fight was a wash-out for Wlad there was no close rds.
The press row scores were probably better than the real judges on this night. 113-112 Simms, 113-112 Alcine, and 113-113 even. Damn hard fight to score.
I watched the first 3 rounds at a bar and to be honest they werent very clear rounds for Klitschko.
werent clear?
are you kidding brewster barely landed or threw a dam thing klitschko owned his ass from start to finish

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH I almost didn't get the JOKE... But then I did..
You were Joking... Right? :ugh:
Don't everybody jump at once. Surely SOME of you scored it.
ROUND 1: 10-9 Simms
ROUND 2: 10-9 Simms
ROUND 3: 10-9 Alcine
ROUND 4: 10-9 Simms
ROUND 5: 10-9 Simms
ROUND 6: 9-9 even (Alcine wins round but loses point for hitting on break)
ROUND 7: 10-9 Simms
ROUND 8: 9-9 even (Simms wins round but loses point for hitting on break)
ROUND 9: 10-8 Alcine (knocks Simms down on a jab)
ROUND 10: 10-9 Alcine
ROUND 11: 10-9 Simms
ROUND 12: 10-9 Alcine
Unless I made a mistake, that's 113-112 Simms. Al Bernstein also had Simms by one point, but at least 3 rounds in this one really could have gone either way. I would not want to be judging that fight.
What the hell was that 116-109? Kazmarek was it? Wasn't that the same judge who scored Tarver-Muriqi a draw? Dude needs to lose his job no doubt.
