I know there's not many believers in this kid but I just wanted to get everyones thoughts on where he might end up when it's all said and done. Will he become one of the best fighters at 147? He's a pretty big kid and I don't think he'll be able to stay at 147 for long, so do you think he'll win championships in 1,2, maybe even 3 different weight classes?
I do. I like his size and strength very much and think he has what it takes to become a champion. His speed isn't bad and his chin hasn't been tested but I like what I've seen. :boxing:
I think the kid has lots of potential; however, he came in late at the game and his deficiencies sometimes show themselves. I think hes got a long way to go but he certainly has the natural tools.
He is tall, has pop in his fists, natural punching ability, and is willing to take some shots without feeling like his plan is failing.
He is pretty good, but nothing special. I already have him losing one fight, which the judges scored it a draw. He will probably end up being a Corley/Ndou type fighter.(Not talking about style) Maybe he can win a title; he will beat most people, but everytime he steps up against an A fighter he will lose.
Ask yourself this: Against Cotto, Hatton, Mosley, PBF, Margo, even Berto, do you think he could beat any of them..... Exactly. He will be good, just not great.
He is coming along so far so good, needs to step up the competiton a little more to see where he stands. So far I dont think he will ever be a great fighter, but he looks like he can develop to be a very good fighter.
When is he fighting Gatti? That should be a great test for him. Hopefully he'll do well and come out on top. I just hope Gatti isn't too much of a step up.
I think its pencilled in for November providing they both win their next fights
i like chavez jr, at least in his last 4 fights hehas looked immpressive....but before that he looked like nothing special, he should fight gomez when he beats gatti, because i have the feeeling gomez could beat chavez jr.....and tat would be big here in mexico
No way gomes gets past gatti, he's eating a left hook that night.
Wanna bet?

he has the potential to be a top class champion imo, and he is still very young so he can still improve a lot.
but i think he should stop fighting bums that are like sparring for him, and he should start fighting better ones.
i like jccjr, he has a lot of potential, but he's a long ways away still. i don't like the hype, and from what i've herd he dose'nt either. he's young and making his way up, he needs to fight better opponents, not world class guys just yet, but some guys that can really box. love that left hook, it's better then his fathers, his jab works good when he uses it, he needs a good trainer like roach, or mayweather sr, if he gets that squared away then he'll go straight to the top

I Believe He Is The NExt Oscar De La Hoya?......... SImilar Style........Similar Body type.................................MORE POWER!!! http://msnbcmedia1.msn.com/j/msnbc/Components/Photos/060406/060406_boxer_vlrg_7a.widec.jpg
could you imagine if he hooked up with beristain? pfffft! QUE! fuggedaboudit!
That's exactly what I'd like him to do. Nacho would teach him to box like he did with Rafa Marquez.
Unfortunately it's on the Morales vs. Diaz PPV card. I like Chavez Jnr, I'm just sick of him fighting bums. He needs to step it up.
He's fighting bums because he didn't have much of an amateur career (I believe he had 5 fights). Give the guy a break. By this time next year he'll have fought a few top 15 or maybe top 10 guys. Maybe even Gatti, if he dares fight him after his "warm up" fight.
I think it's a lose, lose situation for him unfortunatly. Could you imagine what it would be like to grow up the son of Micheal Jordan? If you get what I'm trying to say.........
No matter how good he is he will never stack up against his father and he will live in his fathers shadow forever. I think the kid is good with potential to be very good but I can't say great. He still needs to fight some better quality opponents and then we can make an intelligent assesment of him.
He is still raw and like to bang to much for my taste, especially with his size and reach he has over most of his opponents. He needs to learn to fight tall and use that to his advantage.
I haven't seen much of this kid, I think I caught one of first fights but....so whats all the fuss about?
Is he being touted as a future star? Is he anything like his dad?
Does anyone know when his next fight will be, and with who?
