MAYWEATHER VACATES WBC JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE!

Forrest-Baldomir to fight for vacant strap?
------- has been informed that undefeated pound-for-pound Picasso Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has vacated his WBC 154-pound championship. Mayweather is still the WBC welterweight champion and a potential November 10, 2007 fight against Ricky Hatton is still in the works. ----- has also been informed not to be surprised if the July 28, 2007 Vernon Forrest-Carlos Baldomir is used to determine Mayweather's successor as WBC junior middleweight titlist
Any comments?
thats what im saying....how the hell is forrest getting a title shot?.....has he beatin any top Jr middle's lately....and baldomir has he EVER beaten a jr. middle in his career?....many other deserve a shot...
does it matter that belt is bs
castellijieo was strip for fighting vargas instead of fighting mayorga
mayorga didnt do anything to get a title shot but some who he fought for the vacant title againts that italian dude piccrrilo or something like that
and then oscar scores a title shot against mayorga
after losing to bernard
im glad mayeather is moving back to welter to defend his championship instead of staying at 154 were he is just a titlist
The reason why Baldy gets to fight for the title is because he was the champ at 147 before losing to Floyd. As an ex champ, he remains high in their rankings (he's #1 at 147) and if he moves up in weight will be given a good position (as most other fighters). This is not new and it's not unusual, either.
As for Forest, I guess it's because he's somehow ranked #2 at 154, right behind ODLH.
Here is the WBC's rankings at 154, as of yesterday:
1 .- Oscar De la Hoya (US-Mex)
2 .- Vernon Forrest (US)
3 .- Michele Piccirillo (Italy) EBU
4 .- Sergio Martinez (Argentina) LATINO
5 .- Kassim Ouma (Uganda)
6 .- Javier Mamani (Argentina) ABMH
7 .- Andrey Tsurkan (Ukraine) NABF
8 .- Zaur Baysangurov (Russia)
9 .- Yuri Foreman (Belarussia)
10 .- Jamie Moore (GB) BBBoC
11 .- Fernando Vargas (US)
12 .- Saul Roman (Mexico)
13 .- Verno Phillips (US)
14 .- Toshiharu Kaneyama (Japan) OPBF/ABCO
15 .- Christophe Canclaux (France)
QUARTEY beat philips, and forest beat quartey

Floyd can make 147 easyily, he inofficially weight in at 148 or something like that at the oscar fight, which means je can make weight and fight at 140.
