What if Erik Morales and Floyd Mayweather would have fought at Super Featherweight??

^Barrera isn't boxing against Erik, he is brawling! And Barrera ain't a pure boxer, remember that. The only legitimate defeat suffered by Erik against a boxer is Raheem @ 135. Erik (PAC-EM 1 version) fucks JMM so bad IMO...

No, Morales almost always looked like shit even during weigh-ins but came and punished his opponents...looks are deceiving... And the Erik (PAC-EM 1 version) could've KTFO JMM as well if they fought during that time... and why would that be, considering he fought two boxers, (before and after that fight) and lost to both. why would a victory on a brawler inserted between two defeats to boxers make someone think he would have beaten a boxer? :nonono:

It doesn't matter how you look at the weigh-in, it's how you look in the ring. Morales was not the same fighter in the 3rd fight as he was in the first. He could handle Manny in the first fight, but he had nothing left in the third fight. He didn't put up any resistance whatsoever... Have you really watched it? Morales was landing bombs on Pac as well, but Pac's just too much for Erik to handle... Erik was stunned, staggered, etc. but he was fighting back...if you've really watched it you could see that Erik caught Pac with rights before Pac returned the favor... Bottomline... Pac makes his opponents looked shot...

You don't think Morales was shot in the third Pac fight? He looked dead before the fight even started. I love EM, too (who on earth couldnt?), but I think he is done now. It is ok for him to fight once more, because it cold of course just be that Pac is Pac, but I think he is done. we'll see. Not only his stamina and sharpness are not what they were, but his last fights, win or lose, have all been wars or beatings (on him). Add how many wars he had, and you have a bleak picture. My hope is he doesnt get hurt seriously (which is what i hoped for castillo against hatton, and corrales against clottey, and now also for MAB against PAC) my exact sentiments, i don't want to see these guys hurt as well ... for EM we will see with Diaz... for Marco, he is still competitive, the fight IMHO was close and he even put JMM down, i expect a good fight from him against pac, i just hope nothing spectacular to BEAT pac ... he he

The fight that I fault PBF for not making happen was Joel Casamayor at 135. I agree, even better a younger 130 version of Casa. Shane turned down PBF at 135, and that would have been a great fight back then. I know that Shane gets mega-accolades for being one of history's great lightweights, but....who did he beat? nobody relevant, in fact he usually dont get many accolades form boxing historians It would have also been interesting to see how Freitas would have fought PBF. I dont think it wold have been interesting, Floyd would have fought defensive for a few rounds, find the range and shut down Popo. Also, what would Corrales have done differently at 135 in a PBF rematch? Yes, he would have been knocked down less. But he would have still be embarassed.

whatever man... i appreciate your loyalty to pac I think Erik boxing does not do great with mobile skilled boxers, his skills give him an edge on those who brawl with him, but JMM is way more refined. obviously his range will be an advantage, his jab is stiff and consistent, but 1) it is not perfect in form 2) it is not perfect in terms of timing 3) erik *rarely* used it for what he could have used it for (keep the other fighter off balance, move with it and so on... it is more of a weapon, but that is expected knowing erik's, no?) as much as I am loyal to pac, I am now also a fan of erik and at this point in his career I am still giving him one big fight in him, diaz fight may confirm this or confirm its time to retire ... as skilled a boxer JMM is, he is not that mobile and any fight between him Erik will be a close contest, too bad we wont see it happening...

your point... your point.... EM is 1-4 in his last 5 fights. and you said that EM could have beaten anyone at 130 the night in which he beat pac. doesnt make much sense to me... On EM and JMM JMM is not a good style matchup for Morales, and anyone at those weight (ask MAB and Pac), because he is one of the most skilled fighter at those weights (Guzman and Barrera are the others).
