I was thinking about this:
College Football is huge in the States, and ratings are high even for games in the afternoon on Saturday, so why not have a boxing fight at 5PM more often like they have sometimes for the Klits. A slight problem may be your willingness to pay for PPV at such an early time, but if it is a major fight, why not...So do you agree or disagree?
Also, look at the possible benefits for the fighters as well:
You can now charge PPV in the States and in places in Europe and possibly generate a vast amount.
Fights can also be made more often outside of the States in order to boost boxing throughout the world.
Just being honest, if someone like Ali and Tyson were fighting and I was living in Europe or somewhere else, I would really like they to come to my country so that I had the chance to see them in person.
American Fighters also might find that they can be more popular outside of the States, like Jack Johnson, Sugar Ray Robinson, Ali, and Tyson.
The UK and Irelands totally different to the rest of Europe lol we both Island warrior races. Were a different breed from continental Europe. Crazy engleeesh is what our Greek hotel manager called me and me mates on holiday last year.
Good call. The next American who calls the British "European" is getting called "Columbian" and I won't even feel bad.
LOL, should of kept the Island and Europe seperate.
So is it the English who pushed themselves away from Europe or was it the Europeans that pushed the English away?
Same goes for the Irish vs. the English
Who gives a fuck about Europeans?

Even when pubs shut early theyd have lock ins so people could watch the fight. Fuck the licensing laws if people wanna see the fight the pubs'd stop open.
I know what you mean about kids though but over here when a fights on late its usually repeated the next day so others can see it.
But yeah all TV companies give a fuck abouts coin they'll show it at whatever time is gonna make the most coin.
You might be right, but I would like to see someone try it for a test.
A boxer or any athlete for that matter might also want to expand his show to outside the State in order to have a life after boxing or to sell his products during and after his career to those people he "touched"
I know what your saying but there will have to be a huge amount of Euro money involved. Because boxing, especailly PPV would take HUGE hits and the American revenue would probably nose dive.
Boxing can not compete with Football, basketball and baseball on Saturday afternoons. I think they would lose a lot of there current fan base due to scheduling clash.
They should make the fights at about 4PM on a SUNDAY.
I would love that. I hate debating with myself every saturday that thers a 10:45-11 PM fight, whether i should skip an entire saturday to watch.
It shouldnt always be that way. SUNDAY should be SPORTS day.
The way I see it SPORTS DAY is BEER DAY and BEER DAY doesn't go too well with GETTIN UP EARLY FOR WORK THE NEXT DAY DAY. Of course I'm a brit. In Britain Saturday is watching sports day. Sunday is dragging your hungover arse out of bed in the shitty rain to go run around a dogshit strewn bog for ninety minutes while tattooed nutjobs try to beat the shit out of you day.
We call it Sunday League.

Yes, because even God takes off Sundays to watch American Football, so why not boxing as well.
Well it a matter of targeting there largest viewing population at peak times. Remember its not onlly 300 million Americans. There are a huge amount of Mexican and Puerto Rican boxing fans who are HUGE boxing fans and also fall into that population making it closer to 400 million potential viewers as opposed to 100 million Britains.
The Huge companies could care less about Nationality they just care about the money and currently boxing is better business in the US and Western Time Zones than it is in the UK.

People in Britain are used to being fucked about when it comes to mega-fights. I used to work in a pub that had a special license for Tyson vs Bruno so they could open past 2am.
???
Pubs can't stay open that late?
So you understand my point, especially about the occasional fan and the kids?
And wouldn't you like to have the chance to see these fighters in person?
Like when Ali went to Europe, I am guessing by the reaction he received it must have been amazing.
Remember when Tyson went to England? I do not live there, but judging by the footage before the fight, Tyson was welcomed in vast numbers by the people.
Jack Johnson, who was a N*#**r here, I heard he was welcomed in France.
Same with Ray Robinson.
If I was a fighter, I would love the opportunity to fight throughout the World.
Winky Wright also mentioned that he loved fighting over-seas, but obviously his eyes were still set on the States because that is the big stage and where the money is.

Yeah over here in the UK I dont know any true boxing fan that wont watch a fight no matter what time its on.
I thought the rest of the worlds boxing fans would be the same.
What about the kids or the occasion fan….The occasional fan brings in the most money.
Personally, when I was a kid I had no problem staying up because I have always been a night person, but many of my friends, even if they were allowed fell asleep by fight time, and this is at 11 PM. When you are under 10, for many it might be hard to stay up to 2, 3 in the morning.
