It's not true, Hatton asked for the fight at 140, then a catchweight but ultimately had no choice but to fight at 147 in Mayweather's backyard.
You will see that in a few years from now the Floyd fans will twist the words and say that it was Canelo that wanted the fight at 152. Actually that guy you responded to didn't even give that one time to settle. I remember him saying that about Canelo in another thread! :lol1:
It's on video, Breh. Even Hattons dad said it. Let me see if I can find it. He said they wanted Floyd at 47 bc they knew Hatton would be stronger at the weight
It's not true, Hatton asked for the fight at 140, then a catchweight but ultimately had no choice but to fight at 147 in Mayweather's backyard.
You are an idiot. Floyd had fought 80 percent of his fights at 130 when he met Hatton. Floyd was not the bigger man. Plus, and this is a big plus, Floyd asked for a fight against Hatton at 140 in what would have been Floyd's first fight at 140. Hatton's promoter turned it down! He said Hatton wasn't ready for Floyd, even though Hatton had over 30 fights at 40 at the time
Nice try buddy ....
- Talk is cheap when it comes to Floyd. Like you said, Hatton wasn't ready yet. Doesn't that ring a bell to Floyd fans????
- Cotto wasn't ready when Floyd asked.
- Canelo wasn't ready a couple of years ago.
Reason: Floyd just wants the advantages.
Floyd fought at 154 against Oscar and was decent.
Hatton fought ONCE at 147 and looked very very average. What did Hatton do next? Did he stay at 147 since, as you say, Hatton was bigger than Floyd? NO!!! He went back down for not one but two fights. Then he got called up by Floyd. Now, Hatton wanted the fight so naturally he said yes. Canelo, said NEVER below 154 but he wanted the fight badly so he said OK for 152.
After the Floyd fight, Hatton not me, said "I'm KING at 140 not 147 so I'm staying there" and fought not once but 3 times at 140!!!
Ask yourself this question: Since Hatton's attempt at WW against Collazo, why would a guy bigger than Floyd fight only Floyd at 147 since then? The answer is so easy that even idiots can understand ..... but please let me know why?
Now how can a guy bigger than Floyd fight 3 times at 140 yet little Floyd can't go down below 146 against Marquez and 147 against Hatton?
It isn't about age. Cotto had taken two frightful beatings from Margarito and Pacquiao by the time Mayweather decided to fight him. Most fans were clamouring for the fight 5 years earlier when both were undefeated (after Mayweather/Hatton and Cotto/Mosley) but Floyd retired.
So basically Floyd beats an undefeated fighter and haters discredit that win, he faces another fighter at a healthier weight but his haters also discredit that win because the guy lost.
This guy can't get a break lol. I agree it would have been better in 2008 (Mayweather vs Cotto) but it was still a good fight in 2012.
Yeah people said he should fight Mosley and Cotto in 2008 and he fights them in 2012.
LOL haterz pwned!
Yes, because we know Floyd doesn't age only his opponents do (not serious.) Oh and by the way, he fought Mosley in 2010 not 2012. Mosley was in rebuilding mode in 2008 because of his loss to Cotto, while Cotto went on to KO'd that same year. Floyd fought them after successful outings in 2010 with Mosley and 2012 with Cotto instead of fighting them after they had unsuccessful outings in 2007/2008.
I don't hate Mayweather though he's a bouthy twat, but yes, Hatton will be without a doubt his best opponent above 135, and it could be argued is his best opponent in his entire career.
No, they're just gonna ***** about how he's not fighting Cotto or Mosely..
Oh my God, the predictions were true!
Man you seriously don't get it or are you just pretending or is it that you must defend Floyd at all costs?
Let me know where I lose you .... if it's too complicated to understand:
- I will repeat, Hatton was used to fighting other fighters who weighed in at 140 NOT 147!!!
- Hatton and those other fighters he faced all faced each other at 140 NOT 147.
- Hatton can fight the way he fights easier against 140 fighters than 147 because 147 fighters tend to be bigger and have the experience to fight other fighters at 147.
- Hatton can try to fight his style at 147 and succeed initially BUT eventually, he will tire out because again it's more often than not, easier to do it against guys who weighed in at 140 at weigh-in than those who weighed in at 147.
- If you fight a guy who weighed in at 147 they tend to have better power than those who weighed in at 140.
EXAMPLE: Hatton, on fight night, came in at 149 (NOT 152-153) against Castillo. Yes he surpassed the WW limit but does that mean that he is a WW fighter? NO!!!! He is a 140 fighter that put on 9lbs overnight.
EXAMPLE 2: Castillo came in at 150 when he fought at 135. Does that mean that Castillo can hang with WW? Castillo came in at 153 also. Does that mean that he can hang with WWs? NO!!!
Hatton lived at 140. So most would understand that it would be more comfortable for him to fight his style at that weight. Putting it mildly, he was not able to as consistently at 147. How do I know that? The proof is everywhere. Look at stats and video clips at Hatton at 140 and 147.
Talk is cheap coming from RELOADED (eg. see CW bad for Manny, good for Floyd) ......Now show me PROOF that Hatton did better at 147 than 140 ........ GO!

I will say it slowly for you .
Hatton weighed 152-3 against Kostya , Castillo and Floyd , Floyd weighed 151 fighting Hatton .
Now what can Hatton box like at 152-3 , its what he can you do at a weight by your dumb ass reasoning , so what can Ricky do at his very best fighting weight ?
Fckn idiots in here and you one of the biggest , you dont know sheeeet about weight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty sure I don't remember HBO giving out their fight night weights....?
Its in the interviews post fight , Hatton also said that he would not be over 153 fight night on 24/7 or should I say his trainer said , who talked about Floyd being smaller the weight he came in at with Collazo was too high etc etc .
Its all there !
Sorry but boxing is NOT only about what you weigh. It's what you can do at that weight. What made Hatton Hatton was what he can do at 140 ..... Hatton had difficulty doing that at 147 because fighters are bigger, stronger, .... 147 was all wrong for Hatton.
Hatton struggled at 147 then went back down twice before Floyd fought him. After Floyd fight, Hatton went down again for good until he came back from his retirement.
How can you say that Floyd and Hatton are two JWW with a straight face? So I ask you this, why did Floyd not make 144 for Marquez? Why was the Hatton fight at 147? That is none-sense ...... Floyd has been at 147+ since 2005 and has never come nowhere near 140 in those fights.
I will say it slowly for you .

I'll respect him if he
1) fights Hatton at Ricky's weight of 140
2) fights away from his hometown of Las Vegas for once
3) doesn't have some shady ref like Joe Cortez to help him during the fight.
Or ricky couldve fought floyd at his best weightz-135.
He beat gatti in new jersey and fought plenty of times out of las vegas
How many fights has hed had without cortez?
Should wlad have fought haye or mormeck at their best weight-crusierweight?
It's true, many people were seeing Floyd win by a UD but nobody thought he would get a ko. I remember a guy saying Floyd would ko Hatton and he people were calling him retarded.
And it's true that most Hatton's fans were really nice. They were putting amazing atmosphere in all his fights and were for the most part really respectful towards fans of other fighters. I think it's a sign of insecurity when you have to hate on a certain fighter because you feel he is threatening your favorite fighter... If the haters were not insecure about Floyd they would not make hundred threads about him.
I used to spend every single day posting on here during the buildup to that fight. I was more nervous for that fight than any test I've ever taken or girl I've ever taken out. Put every point, my avy my sig and my user title on the line. The UK fans did the same and every day it was just a fun spectacle to be here. Looking back on it....that was the climax of being on NSB. No fight has come that close to being so..........addictive.
Why do you idiots keep saying this when I have proved you wrong a 1000 times , just shows what child minds you have .
One more for the fools !
Hatton weighed 153 on fight night fighting as a JWW , he beat KT , Castilo and many more weighing this .
Hatton weighed 159 fighting Collazo and said he would never fight at that weight again because he felt heavy and sluggish .
Hatton fighting Floyd weighed 152 on the night and Floyd was 151 .
Hattons trainer said in the lead up that Floyd is smaller than Ricky and thats why the weight was not a problem , he also said that upon losing to Floyd they still retain a JWW title .
Fact is Hatton vs Floyd were 2 JWWs fighting for a WW title .
You ignorant haters ignore facts to keep you fake hero alive , such children !

Lmao!! Oh man
LOL all these old floyd hater threads.
Floyd needs to fight hatton, mosley and cotto, he wont ever fight them, hes scared.
Then he beats all of them and the excuses come out.
Why are you getting trolled so easily by Pac-Boy ? This retard thought Guerrero could beat Floyd, don't waste your time with him
I guess it just the words on paper that annoy me , if I were to see these scrawny little kids behind the posts Id piss myself laughing and walk away .

:WORD: Soooo True. Hatton said he would not fight @ 147 again. He got whooped by Collozo and Floyd ONLY would fight him at the weight he was NO good at!
After Manny had one fight @ 147 he went back down to 140 to fight \Ricky at his best weight. After Ricky bounced back with wins to keep his 140 championship!
