I was on another forum and saw this discussion and they have alot of pix...which I now have. When you see the pix it is a kidney punch. Cant be denied.
Now I've tried the thing to post pix but all it gives me is a link. Something I'm missing?
Wait till ya'll see these babies...
Even though Hatton's glove did seem to slip around to Castillo's back after the initial contact there was no direct impact to the kidneys. The shot came in from the side and was above kidney level anyway.
This is the feeblist attempt at discrediting a win that I've ever seen.
Yeah some people just refuse to give credit to Hatton. I aint one of Hatton's biggest fans but I can still see his bodyshot was one of the best KO's of the year and as you say the intial contact was completly legal and some posters need to get over it.
thats not what you said you said this verbatim...
Anyway...Sam Peter does it all the time and its illegal...If you miss, you miss, not hit tthe back of his head.
It is illegal to turn your back on a fighter, but doesnt mean it can be hit there.
Who are you, a contract lawyer?
I meant that ab accidental hit on the back of the head because your opponent turns away is not dirty. If you aim a punch at the side of someone's ribs and they turn away then it's not dirty to hit them in the kidney, because what are you supposed to do, stop throwing punches?

If this was a kidney punch, then how come this issue was not raised on HBO after the fight? You know someone would've mentioned something.
Yeah I think he is now. 3rd time on it,and 3rd time fighting big in America too.
Theres your answer...

How does 33 make Castillo an old man? Is Hopkins an old man at age 42?
He was a shadow of the fighter he was just a couple of years ago! Hattons one of the most open fighters around, Castillo would've made him pay for it not that long ago! Some fighters show their age overnight, it happens.
There is also a fine line on fighting dirty and being a dirty fighter. A little dirt aint the end of the world...but when you constantly do it...its a problem. Thats just me...
I agree with this kinda like all the illegal elbows and forearms MAyweather uses like a weapon against every single opponent he faces. That being said when I first saw the punch I thought it was a kidney punch but after watching it a few times it may have been borderline at worst and was not intentional, i think all the work hatton had done on castillos body throughout was what really caused him to come undone.

Is Hatton a HBO fighter?
Point is, there is a fine line between winning and losing in professional sports. Sometimes you just gotta let these guys fight.

I thought that too but watch the vid after seeing the pix...its crystal. Hattons bringing his arm back.
When I 1st saw the shot I thought it was illegal, but after seeing the slomo from the front angle I thought it was legit. Now that I see all angles...its a whole new ball game.
Hey I thought Hatton dominated the fight anyway. Prolly would have stopped him regardless. But the kid is dirty...nothing new and not trying to rob him of a good win...but the evidence speaks for itself. If ya wanna talk DIRTY fighters, see Cottos' lowblows on Zab...he's a rat
If you throw a headshot and your opponent ducks or turns their head so you end up rabbit punching them how is it your fault as a fighter? It's against the rules to turn your back on your opponent.

it isn't dirty to hit your opponent on the back of the head if they bend their head down..

It never suprises me what some people say to discrdit Hatton.
What will they say next? Castillo blinked at the time Hatton threw the punch so wasnt ready to defend against it, so Hatton was unsportsmanlike.?2 words describe the Hatton haters....sour grapes
Uhh...yes it is...your kidding right?

Furthermore it isn't dirty to hit someone in the back if they turn their back towards you as you're throwing, just as it isn't dirty to hit your opponent on the back of the head if they bend their head down. Accidental innit.

That wasn't the angle that the finishing shot was made at. Castillo's right arm was much further forward and away from his ribs when that one landed.

You can see that Castillo's elbow is forward and elevated away from his body. Also note that Hatton's forearm is parralel to the ropes when the punch lands.
In the other picture you can clearly see Hatton's forearm is almost perpendicular to the ropes, and Castillo's elbow is clamped into his side. Castillo is also more upright. The conclusion is that the two photographs were not taken at the same moment.
