Hatton throws one punch then holds...
Thats illegal shit. Clinching is for when your hurt or in a dangerous position. Hatton has mad it his career on it...and it aint cool.
Actually you seen hatton holding with the right and digging to the body with the left, or holding with the left and digging to the body with the right... That sh*t is weak, he might as well get the little gloves and fight MMA...
That shit is deadly, and a better style than moving backwards like a girl
Don't lump us all as the same.
I made a thread that clinching and hitting is legal. Holyfield used that tactic with Tyson. Lewis has done his share of the same. Hopkins does it, but it depends on who he's fighting. Hatton will do it with fighters who are bangers but he didn't do that with all his victims.
EDIT - HBO commentators suck. Only guy I liked was Bobby Cyz.
Fair enough; HBO team sucks, and SKY is much better. I'd rather watch the SKY broadcasts but I don't want to wait for uploads
last night i saw two mean leaning on and looking to land rather than out and out holding

I just heard the HBO commentary on the Hatton fight. Christ, what a shower of ignorant spackers they are.
No wonder those across the pond are convinced that all Hatton does is clinch if you get idiots like that telling you it all the time.
hatton clinches 15-20x every round, thats illiegal. thats a major part of his gameplan in every fight. no other fighter clinches no way near as much and they dont use it as a part of their whole strategy and fighting style. thats why so many people are pissed off with him.
Hatton will continue to win fights with his cheating until a ref acknowledges it.They HAVE to see it, they just dont acknowledge it. He's got quick hands, and power, so he'll be able to thoroughly take advantage of his cheating tactics.
Godzy this ir ridiculous; I'm disappointed. Nothing Hatton does is 'cheating'. AND he throws eighty punches per round. When was the last time a Mayweather or a Hopkins did that?

Yeah? and Castillo get punching Hatton in the bollocks and hugged just as much as him too.
If Hatton was American you wouldn't be saying none of this stuff.
No it has nothing to do with nationalism. The shits annoying period. Im a fan of Hatton, and when he started holding as early as 10 seconds into the 1st round I was pissed. Not that I think its a dirty tactic. I just think its boring, and Hatton used to never do it.
At least he throws punches in the clinch, not that bogus John Ruiz stuff. Personally, as long as people are throwing punches and trying to fight I have less problem with it than trying to not fight guys like Dirrell, Mayweather, and Spinks try to pull.

That means that Ali wasn't cool vs Frazier....Foster wasn't cool against Frazier....Dirty low-blow punchers are not cool ( See Cotto VS Judh )
I could go on:duh:
erm he must be fighting 10 minute rounds then to get his punch stats to where they are....
why make another crap thread I ask? You're just drawing negative attention to yourself kiddo.

Clinching is not a style but it is a tactic in the sport of boxing. I hear trainers all the time say "tie him up on the inside." Sure Hatton does his share of holding but you can't win fights without punching and considering he has won a majority by KO apparently he can punch.
