I thought he took the easy way out. He could have gotten up in my opinion and taken more punishment. To me it looked like he took a good body shot yes, but I thought he clearly went over and took a dive. Not saying that he was payed off but he quit. Very similar to what Morales did.
That was just 1 helluva' body shot. He put it right where it had to be. I think you also gotta' realize that he also took like 3 hard body shots to the same area just before Ricky planted that last one on the numbers. Costilla didn't quit, he got beat. It's that simple.
If Castillo got up he had a whole minute to go with that kind of pain. He was done. I do think that a big part of him waiting for the ten count was psychological. He knew that if he got up he was going to be brutalised. Tszyu couldn't bear to face another three minutes of Hatton's onslaught, Castillo had much further to go than that.
Plus there's something intensely dispiriting about being hit hard in the body, and Hatton was landing that left hook at will.
no he didn't quit, that shot had every ounce of ricky hatton into it. it was a great shot right to the floating rib. i think it paralyzed castillo because when you watch after castillo spun around and then decided to go down he couldn't get his legs to cooperate, he had one leg hanging out in his half squat and he was trying to pull it in and couldn't.
i think that shot would've dropped anyone that was in front of hatton last night. and had he gotten up it would have been real bad for castillo or who ever the opponent would've been...............................

it looked that way to me.... but who knows.
when cortez took the point for low blows after not one single warning, after repeatedly letting hatton hold really frustrated castillo imo.... combine that with corrales's family taking his paycheck from the fight , castillo could have just said fuck it...why bother?
Now that fight had to have been a fix or something was fucked up with it.
business parters two weeks later??
I will never believe with out proof DLH would do that......Thats just how I feel.I know many would disagree because of the business stuff but I just don't buy it....He did'nt need Hopkins and could have still done business with him if he won also.
On the Castillo quitting subject after watching that clip of the 4th round again,It could have possibly been an accumilation too because it appeared Hatton landed 5 or 6 good left hooks to the body throughout the round leading up to the KO.
DLH was crippled and clearly in pain from the look on his face.....Castillo looks like he could have gotten up but simply did not want to.Whether or not he took a dive or just felt mentally and physically out of the fight is open to speculation.

this is B Hop vs DLH all over again. liver shot

i wonder if he did get payed off, we will never know, castillo seemed to know the shot was coming though and didnt do anything, he watched the punch from the moment it swang to the moment in connected, he seemed to brace himself for it and open himself up for it
i dont want too think like that, but just something i noticed
WTF are you on?

Word, wasn't that clean of a punch.
even that, he hit him with a good punch but I don't think it was enough to make someone go across the ring.
Castillo thought the punch was something more than that.
He probably was surfing boxingscene and heard about Hatton's CRAAAAAAAAAZY body punches.
(no but seriously he was psyched out one way or another)
It was a put you on the canvas punch, just look a the placement, similar to what Cotto dropped Quintana with. However I do believe he could've gotten up. However, those body shots last with you and he would've been dropped again in that round.
I think he could've gotten up but the outcome would've eventually been the same. Same with the Zab-Cotto stoppage. Zab could've went on a little longer but the outcome would've been the same.
Castillo was overmatched and he knew it. I think 75% was the body shot, and 25% was that in the back of his mind he knew that Hatton wasn`t going to back off and that he was probably going to get more of the same.
