Oscar De La Hoya has stated that Mayweather did not impress him when they fought on May 5th.. He said Floyd Mayweather is "very beatable" and "vulnerable to the jab."
He won't however be interested in a rematch, and wants to fight someone who is willing to stay in front and trade.. He implied Mayweather bullshitted on his promise to go toe to toe.
Oscar also commented that he suffered injury's during training camp, and was forced to take off 3 weeks prior to the bout. He contends the injury's began affecting him as early as the 3rd round against PBF.
He also said that he not only wishes to patch things up with Bob Arum - he will definately repair the relationship with Arum, and hopes to work with him on good terms in the future..
oscar is a bum
in interviews he
said this was the only
camp where he had
no injuries. he is
just mad floyd beat him up
he didnt stand toe to toe with
trinidad so whats the problem now
So, Mayweather was NOT scared of Shane in the summer of 2006 after SSM knocked out Vargas, but Floyd IS scared of Shane in the summer of 2007?
Is that what you people are telling me?
Isn't it MORE likely that Mayweather is punking SSM (from a business standpoint) as negotiating leverage to get SSM to take a lower cut? That PBF is in an advantageous negotiating position, and is flexing his muscle?
.. hopefully he isnt scared.. and hes just trying to get alot of money for this fight.. and if thats the case i think he will be shocked in the ring.. what your saying would be great.. but i still think shane p4p is the best fighter in the world like emanuel steward said he shoudl really be fighting at 140... and his old 2 losses are to fighter who are taller and much bigger winky is fighting at light heavyweight and forrest at middle .. and both were close fights
Real Heavy:
If Floyd is scared of SSM, why did he offer Shane a fight back at 135? And why did he offer Shane a fight in 2006?
Please help me understand this.
well actually mayweather wanted the fight in november 2006 and shane said febuary 2007... but then the oscar fight came in to play.. and shane said oscar could fight him first oscar being his partner mosely is a part of goldenboy... now mayweather dont want to fight him..
Yeah I'm kind of agreeing with this.
Because I've said it those two are really the only two I see beating him. Although I wouldn't go so far to say he's flat out scared of Shane............but I will say that's biting off a bit too much as far as risk/reward is concerned.
Shane is a superstar and a draw......but let's leave it there. Because it's been established Floyd was seeking out history by moving up in weight as a challenger.....well he'd be challenging for a leftover belt he vacated in the first place against an extremely dangerous opponent who's days as one if not boxings biggest draws came and went to some degree.
If you know boxing then you know Shane and he's right there. But it's obvious Floyd isn't concerned with fighting die hard challenges moreso fighting who the public thinks are the fighters to beat.
Public = people who don't know boxing like we do. They still think Tyson is going to make a comeback and become the undisputed HW Champion.
thats the fight i want to see.. i wanna see the 2 best p4p fighters.. even tho mayweather would probably loose he would help boxing by making this fight.. and there could be a rematch or a trilogy for both too retire and ride off into the sunset... if mayweather is waiting for mosely to get old , thats not going to happen.. shane style is built on him and he looked faster then ever against collazo who is somewhat like a left handed version of mayweather himself.. i wanna see this fight
the only fighterss that will beat floyd is winky and shane... winkys too big.. and floyds scared of shane

Shouldn't of gave him anymore than 4rds.
u can make a solid arguement that Oscar won 5 rounds, round 2, 4,6,7,8. If you score fights with a heavy emphasis on aggression you can make a case for him winning round 12. I had this fight scored a draw initially but of course on hindsight I had it 7 rounds to 5 MAyweather. I will say this again, Oscar obviously got tired or maybe he was hurt as he says. But I think Oscar wanted to end his carreer with a fight that would be talked about for a long time, Floyd promised him a toe to toe fight and couldnt deliver. Oscar probably realizes he's no spring chicken and cant chase a guy like mayweather for most of the fight and have the energy to light up the sky with action packed exchanges. So why think Mayweather would fight any different? You look at the investment Oscar made in this fight, personally, on a business level, professionally and have to ask what would he stand to gain? As has been said before many of the people who bought this fight the first time wont buy again. Plain and simple they dont want to see Floyd pot shot his way to victory against a faded but still very good opponent. Floyd is blinded by greed but Oscar has a different perspective plus a different agenda. Floyd may be a great great fighter but his reluctance to step up to a challenge and take on the best/toughest fights for him that are out there really has to make you wonder? floyd says he dont need boxing maybe boxing really dont need floyd anymore?
Please dont get me started with Ali, I am probably in the very very very minority here, but I have never been impressed with Ali
Honestly, neither have I. Please everyone, beat me tomorrow about this. I have had a lot today.
Why do I like Mayweather and not an Ali fan, I will explain tomorrow.
I have to agree with this.
Ali was on another level than floyd. He was a fluid combination puncher with very good power, maybe the best jab ever and movement with a purpose. To appreciate Ali you need to seperate the early Ali from the late Ali, both versions utilizing different skills to win, win, win. Plus understand that Ali fought maybe the best group of heavy weight opponents you could shake a stick at.
If you gave 8 rounds to oscar it all depends on how you look in that straightjacket.
I don't think anybody (friends, people here) gave Oscar more than 6 or 7 round that I know of.
Flaherty gave him 8 rounds. It all depends on how you look at the fight.

Even people who aren't fans of Mayweather believe he won they just thought the fight wasn't too exciting. I don't see how Oscar won 7 rounds. Most I could give him was 5.
You could also say there was know way Cory Spinks won 5 rounds. Flaherty gave him 8 rounds. It all depends on how you look at the fight.
or I suggest taking your head out of mayweather ass for one second and watch it without bias, god I hate nuthuggers
How dare you use God and Hate in the same breath? But anyway there is no nuthugger here jerkey, I just got 20/20. Like I said go watch the fight again and if you still think Oscar landed more than give up watching boxing.

I actually just watched it today smarty, Saw the same thing as the first time, glove hitting all night long
Well then if I was you I'd give up watching boxing or get to the nearest Lens Crafter.
see and thats why noone takes you seriously, all you resort to is name calling, its really childish
Dont worry about who takes me seriously, worry about you, nice to know you care tho sweetie.
De la hoya LANDED more punches in that fight, Compubox obviously cant tell the difference between a clean punch or hitting a glove
Who had his eye swoll by De La Hoya without a mark on him?
Of course Mayweather lands more punches, whats his competition been?
1) I dunno what fight you were watching, mayweather landed more and landed the more effective, didnt you tell me you had a score of 116-114 de la hoya, does that score add up correctly? lol
2) So if floyd hasnt fought anyone, why have you got hatton and margarito in your top 5 p4p?
Who has fought better fighters, hatton and margarito or Floyd?
lol.
