Well now that this has been confirmed, I'd like to get everybody's opinions on which fights HBO Sports should choose to chronicle for the new mini-series. So, which fights would you like to see on "Legendary Nights" next year? (Sorry if somebody already posted a thread like this, I work a lot and haven't been online much recently.)
I'm kind of still mulling it over in my head really, the only fight(s) that pop out immediately that I want to see HBO Sports do a story on would obviously be the epic trilogy of Barrera/Morales.
What about you?
Does anybody think Tarver-Jones gets any consideration at all
Hell yea! The Tarver-Jones Jr. Trilogy was significant! It marked the first time we ever saw Roy vulnerable in the ring and it also bought his dad back to corner for the 3rd fight. Tarver vs Jones Jr. marked the end of the Jones Jr. era as THE MAN!
Barrera/Morales, Gatti/Ward, Trinidad/Hopkins, Vargas/Trinidad, Mosley/DLH, and Mayweather/DLH come to mind.
got most of the good 1s i was also finkin jones ruiz

thats my what i was thinking and maybe rjj/traver
Mayweather/hatton
I enjoyed the series, but after reading so much nonsense ("Atlas was a great trainer who willed Moorer to win", "Leonard was terrified of Pryor", "Taylor was immediately a brain-damaged bum after the Chavez fight") that people take away from that series, I couldn't really care less if they made another series.
Hopkins-Trinidad
Don King owns the rights to that fight, thats why HBO never replays it. It's also why whenever they talk about Hopkins vs. Trinidad, they never show fight footage, just still photographs.
Racing? Fuck that. Though the Joe Louis one was great and really touching. Too bad it was ruined by that joke of a fight afterwards.
I'm man enough to admit the Jou Louis documentary made me cry a little bit. It moved my girlfriend to tears too and she didn't even know who he was.
Well shit, that sucks. I was really looking forward to them this year. Are they doing another documentary now? Any idea what it is?
yea they are doing another sports documentary on racing i believe
Legendary nights, should show Duran leonard 1 and 2. I don't think there was a legendary nights on this yet. those were broadcast by ABC not HBO. so in all probability HBO wont claim the rights for the footage
yea they stop production on them for the joe louis documentary, and they are doing another one now. Ross Greenburg or w/e said that he would love to do them in the future
