I just can't picture any scenario where Maskaev defeats Peter. Peter looked like a different and much improved fighter in his last outing because of his improvement in his training and conditioning. And I'd bet that Peter's handlers had alot to do with his improvement.
My point is, is that Duva is not gonna let Peter go into the biggest fight of his career out of shape or under prepared. Peter will come into this fight focused, in shape, and determined. I don't see this fight going any longer than 3-4 rounds. Maskaev is just a KO waiting to happen.
P.S. If anyone wants some action on this fight pm me.
Peter is WAY over rated.. And Maskaev is a little underated..
In terms of skill and size .. Peter has a punchers chance.. But unless he KO's Oleg.. he will lose a descision or even possibly get Ko'd himself..
Peter better be in Toney 2 shape otherwise Maskaev will outbox Peter and win by unanimous decision. Watch Maskaev vs. Tua on youtube and this will probably be the exact same fight except Maskaev will survive this time.
Maskaev is just another one of these old guys who ought to retire before they get hurt. Peter is dangerous when he is fat and out of shape. I can't imagine how Maskaev is going to survive 12 rounds if Peter actually does some serious training.
Sam Peter is almost unbearable to watch, he's so slow and fat...Maskaev will come in good shape, and unless he's hurt by Peter's rabbit punches, he should win.
He's not so fat anymore. He went down maybe 12 pounds between the first time I saw him fight and now.
Also, I don't think Maskaev can take several big shots from Peter. He's too easy to hit, and he will be hit. I think he'll fold within a few rounds. If he makes it to 4, you might be making the right call, though I don't see it happening.
From what I've seen on several websites, it appears to be set for Sep 29 somewhere in the US. Potatoes, would you add a "Who Wins" poll to this thread?
We can save that debate for another thread. I'm just trying to get some info.
