Wasting no time after his loss to Cotto, Zab Judah will be fighting on the season finale of ESPN Friday Night Fights, on September 7th, 2007. The Peterson brothers will also be on the 2 1/2 hour extravaganza card, and no opponents for Judah or the Peterson brothers have been finalized yet. The card will take place in Mississippi. i agree freddie roach comes to mind, emanuel stweard, he needs some new blood in his corner... not mayweather Sr. though he would fustrate judah how slow he talks...
I've been saying Roache or Steward, too.
But I could also see Sr. He'd be right up Judah's ally making raps/rhymes or whatnot. He's strict. Kind of tough but very talented and he's cultivated some of boxings greatest talent.
I'd prefer Steward.

I agree with all of the talk about Zab needing a new trainer, but I would say he should pick Freddy Roach.
Zab is such an excitable guy, to the point that it really hurts in most of his big fights. Yoel Judah is the enabler that creates the spark for most of Zab's meltdowns.
Freddy is one of the most calm trainers you will ever see in a corner, even in a mega-fight. I think he has a way of gently reassuring a fighter that would be really helpful to someone who is as insecure as Zab. I really think they would be a great pair, but the odds of it happening are pretty low I guess.
I agree he needs to get rid of his father and find another trainer. I personally think Mayweather Sr or Buddy McKirt would make good trainers for Zab. He needs someone who is serious and will keep him focused and on track.
If Zab is serious about getting another crack at another top fighter he should fight Carlos Baldomir again. That fight makes sense. But if hes going to comeback and knock out another Wayne Martell, I don't see the point in that. If not Baldomir, he should fight someone in the top 15. I just don't want to see him fight another journeyman fighter.
I told all of you monkeys that Cotto is no Galvan.
Um I'm pretty sure most boxing fans knew that already. Way to point out the horribly obvious. Bad post :nonono:
Seemingly Zab was under a lot of duress when he fought Cotto, anyway. Newly divorced. That's gotta be a lot on the mind. All Judah needs is a new trainer. People can say what they will, but the boy is bad and as long as he tightens his game up, he will make a come back. He's more than capable. Just wonder who they'd match him against???
he's got the right idea coming back quick and staying active, now if he would just get rid of his dad and get a real trainer he might be able to do something with his career..............key word "might". zab has mental issues sometimes he's mentally sound and others he folds and crumbles or is flat out weak, like against baldomir, hitting him on the side when he's supposed to touch gloves, weak..........................
Judah should fight a credibale, yet very very beatable opponent.
Like a Sakio Bika but in his weight class you know? Hed earn respect for the win, but hes still assured a vicotry unless he completely overlooks the guy.
Like Baldomir?
Does he have vision problems after what cotto did to his eye? How can he take a fight this early with how beaten up he got, is he taking on a bum or something? I don't think this topics legit.
It's legit; it's on boxrec.com!..
His cut really wasnt that bad he just kept messing with it.
I think this is the best way to go. Fight a couple light hitting journeyman to get your confidence back. No bums, like a Zuri Lawrence type of fighter. Spinks' camp has already shown interest in a third fight just like I thought.
He's just trying to prove that cotto didn't hurt him as much as we all know he did. I am shocked that his father is alowing him to fight so soon. It looks like his father wants him killed or something. That or they are really financially strapped.

Maybe its a bit early to take a fight like that though. Im surprised hes already announced his return...
