Are the current crop of Heavyweights the worst ever?? They certainly the worst I can ever remember. There just seems to be nothing happening there that interests me at all no up coming fights that I think they not special but it should be a good fight,no outstanding fighters who you think "I'm watching a great here" when you see them fight, Whats everyone elses houghts and opinions on the scene and their case for or against my point??
Simply put, none of these champs would even be considered contenders in most other eras. It's that bad.
lol,,,,they would be at least top 20 contenders in most other eras with the exception of maybe maskeav
You guys need a new fighter like Holyfield to come up the ranks in Britain or the US, so you'll be able to enjoy the heavyweight division. Have faith, it's just a matter of time. I already have that exciting future champ to root for in Alexander Povetkin, who had the best amateur record at super heavyweight of all time...watch his videos on YouTube, and you'll see why I'm excited about this guy..
Cheers mate I'll get on that now, I do have faith theres always someone up and coming just I cant see them yet.
Holyfield to me personified everything that a champ should be, he had wars, ducked no one and was dignified.
Same here mate the only time I was really impressed by him was when he destroyed Ruddock but after that he changed to a boring style, Holyfield gave it his all every fight.
Naturally, since both he and yourself are British. People's thinking on how good the heavyweight division is tends to be subjective. If you ask a Russian, he'll likely say it's never been better. If you as a Uzbek, he might say he just started liking it. If you ask an American, many will say it's never been worse. If you ask a Brit, he'll say it has sucked since Lewis retired, but "I'd like to see what Haye can do at heavyweight".
The heavyweight division is fun to watch as long as you have someone good to cheer for. There never has been a really good heavyweight from Canada, so I got used to rooting for foreigners like George Foreman years ago (at least 50 current heavyweights could easily beat Chuvalo, I know, I went to some of his fights years ago, he had an amazing chin but otherwise he was mediocre).
From an unbiased, objective perspective, I say there's more top notch heavyweights now than ever before. There's still lots of good American heavyweights like Brock and Brewster, but what people in America and Britain fail to accept is that the quality of fighters in Russia and other East European and Central Asian countries has surpassed those in the West. I know that's a tough pill for some people to swallow.
great post. you summed it all up. amen
Hahaha Im a whitey so it dont bother me what colour they are as long as they good to watch and I dont find any good to watch at the moment.
my comment was directed at you. most people know who these people are
Peter vs. Vitali Klitschko
Wlad vs. Brewster
Povetkin vs. Barrett
Those are the 3 fights that are either happening soon or being discussed and are of interest to me. What's your point?
Cheers your replying with names , do you think any of those fights would lead to unification fights??
the american heavyweights are the worst possibly ever. not the white boy europeans. most of the people claiming this to be the worst era are saying so becuase they cant accept the fact that whites are taking over the weight class. deal with it and get over it :bottle:

Who tho???????? thats what I'm asking and no ones answering with any names just saying theres fights to be made.
Peter vs. Vitali Klitschko
Wlad vs. Brewster
Povetkin vs. Barrett

Why bother?.. No matter who I name you will find some fault and tell me how wrong I am and that I dont know shit...
Your type is a dime a dozen on here...
Not very original at all... :nono:
Whyd I tell you you dont know shit?? Its a question Im asking people , If you gonna reply at least have the balls to reply with who you think will make a good fight.
Well I get a lot of laughs for mentioning Juan Carlos Gomez, but I think he's as talented a boxer as there is in the division. There's a Corrie Sanders vs Wladimir rematch would wouldn't do much in terms of the future of the division, but would be fun to watch .
There's a few guys coming up who may or may not be that good, but we shall see. One punch can change everything in the heavyweight division and that's why it will always be an interesting division. An undisputed champion would at least make it a bit more respectable.
Yeah this is starting to get somewhere your making good points.
