i think his win was impressive however;
he needs to work in the gym on his defensive game,
I believe he is not ready yet maybe in the welterweight he'll
survive due to his height advantage, but he has a long road ahead of him,
before he can compete with top p4p fighters @ the welterweight division....
thoughts....
JCC JR is just pure Hype created by the media.. This kid have 33 fights already and he hasn't fight nobody.
Some may say.. ohh he has no amateur career thats why . :nonono:
So this kid will break hes dad record of 108 and stili will be fighting BUMS.
Cause he had no amateur career.:damnit:
Who need an amateur career when your father name can buy any profesional fight or even get a draw when you clearly lose one. :D
JCC JR is a Fucking BUM waiting to be exposed.
The end.
Even if he never amounts to much aleast he has the nuts to get in there and fight!!! He isnt only fighting the guy in front of him, He is also fighting his dad legacy!!! Which would make most people shit their pants!!! Not JCC JR!!! He fights anyway!!! I respect him for that!!!
Give him time to prove himself!!! Time will tell weather he cuts the mustard!!!
JCC SR is a Legend!!!
Look at cotto ,dlh, trinidad and mosley..they have hundreds of amateur fights and it wasn''t until their 30th fight before they fought a legit threat to them...so if chavez jr is a bum then those fighters are even worse because they had hundreds of fights to prepare and still took close to 30 fights before fighting someone good....the truth is that chavez jr will one day be world champion and no one is out there that in 2 years will be a legit threat too him only margarito....
Dude I'm not dissing on Chavez Jr. He might very well be a champion some day but why do I have to endure him fighting in total mismatches and essentially watch him have his amateur career on PPV.
There are tons of talented fighters out there that could showcase there skills against each other and provide a better show than Chavez vs Wiley gave us with there unintersting TOTALLY mismatched fight.
For me a PPV undercard should showcase guys on the rise and that are ready to compete against top guys in there division or fighters that will be ready to fight top guys very very shortly. Chavez wont be ready to fight a top 10 147lb fighter for another 4 years.
Prime example of a good undercard was the Arce-Hussein fight which was on an undercard. I didn't know about Arce till that fight and now I love watching the guy fight. What if that spot was taken by a Chavez?
.
BTW Mosley, DLH, Trinidad and Cotto were all fighting better competition at the equal 33rd fight. They all were fighting for Belts at around there 20th fight.

good post....
do you think he can keep making 147? i notice he almost always weighs in 4 pounds over the limit
he didnt look to have too good of defense in his last fight.
looks like a big naturally strong welterweight and his punches seem to hurt his opponents, however, is it just me or does it look like he isnt throwing them hard, or they 'have no pop' he kinda just looks like hes touching the other guy.
also has a mostly nonexistent jab
If he is planning to step any time soon i'll accept Oktay Urkal or even Cosme Rivera. Nothing against the guy personally, but he should not be the co -main event until he beats a legit guy.
i like the kid, he shows a lot of potential. he has no ameteur carrerr and he's fighting bums, well he would be fighting bums in the ameteur ranks too, am i correct? i think he'll be one of the greats one day, but not now, he has a lot more fights to get him ready. he is going to fight gatti next? i think that's a big mistake, he's still not ready for that yet. i've herd a lot of people say he's all hype, well i don't think he is, i think the media is hyping him up too much in which he says he hates, it's not the kids fault if the media does that. in 3 more years he'll be one of the greats, or one of the worst.
No offense to Chavez Jr. but I wish I didn't have to endure his fights on PPV's. I dont want to pay to see some kid get his amateur experience. Give that spot to someone more deserving and to a fight more evenly matched.
I agree with this post 100%. I couldn't believe he fought after Soto. The fights are over before they begin. He must have to feel like a hype job by now, himself. I feel sorry for him. He'll be in a world of shit against an Elite fighter. I hope I'm wrong for his sake.
I'm still not sold on the kid, he shows potential but he is fighting guys that that obviously makes his record very deceiving. I saw the Molina fight and JCC jr lost and then they fought again and it was a draw in my opinion. Let's see him fight Andre Berto , then will see if he is legit or not. Shit, i'll even accept old ass Sharmba Mitchell.
please not sharmba mitchell...
guy is a decent fighter and measuring stick, but chavez needs someone who can deal with his height.. mitchell cannot do that, so i dont think hed be proving much there either
also, more importantly imo, id like to see what chavez looks like when he actually has to make the proper weight... he looks good coming into welterweight fights at 151 pounds but what will losing that last 4 pounds do to him when he gets in there with an experienced veterean who is strong at the weight?

Obviously he isnt ready to take on the absolute best at 147 I think anyone can see that. Even he can see that. As for him asking for Oscar, the question was if he wanted to fight Oscar and he said hed love it but he knows he isnt ready for him yet maybe 2 years down the road he said.
Also what i didnt like in this last fight was he was a little immature which made him sort of reckless.
Thtas what am talking about . the media is hyping this kid like there is no tomorrow :nonono:
I thought he actually did perform well... He still needs work before he faces top competition... But, I think he will be one of the top guys in his weight class in and for the years to come...
you sure about that...?
:lol1:
their is an advantange though, TV Azteca ended up showing the whole card just to broadcast the chavez jr. fight so I didn't even have to pay:]

You have to understand Bob's a genious he puts him on allot of the PPV's because the Mexican people will buy the PPV just to see him fight and we all know that the Mexican people support their boxers.

He has the genes and abilitly to be good, but like you guys said he does have holes and once he steps in there against a world class boxer still in his prime, it won't be good. And Left3body your right I would much rather see somebody else in that PPV slot.
