Nonstop, come forward, come forward, throw punches, throw punches, never take a step back, take some punches, PUNISH your opponent. Zab even took a knee just to avoid the barrage.
There's your example of a 12 ROUND FIGHTER.
Still think he's overrated? Still think he's robotic? Fight ended up just like all my posts have been saying.
Soundtraveler, pay up!!! HAHA!!!!
I just want to say that I am very satisfied with my decision to purchase the fight despite the fact that I resent pay-per-views in boxing, and I am not a fan of Cotto or Judah.
Judah fought with class and courage tonight like I have never seen from him before. I have been an anti-Zab fan ever since his dispicable behavior after the Tsyzu fight, and many of his other performances didn't win me back. I am very impressed with the dignity and grace-under-pressure that Zab exihited tonight.
I have yet to jump on the Cotto bandwagon, but I can certainly see why many other folks have. Cotto also showed a big heart and a cool disposition despite several serious cuts on his face, and a very dangerous opponent in front of him.
Both men covered themselves in glory tonight despite the fact that only one man can be declared the winner in the fight. I am honestly eager to see both guys fight again before the end of the year against other top welterweights.
The bottom line is that boxing fans won big tonight in a terrific fight that see-sawed in momentum, and left me guessing how it would end until the final seconds when the ref stopped it in the 11th.
This was a great night for boxing and all of the fans of the "sweet science." Even if I paid $50 dollars to see it. Thank you to both men for the thrill of a great boxing match.
That is an excellent post, although Zab was and still is a friend of mine, I have to give big props to Cotto for a gutsy toe to toe fight, he won it big, and even with a year long layoff, Zab gets huge props as well for his gutsy performance. A truly great fight, and you are right, Boxing won tonight! Kudos to you for a great post and much respect to both Miguel and Zab for a very good show tonight. No way is Zab finished, he showed that to many people tonight, and Cotto is a beast, he can take a big punch and keep coming - he deserved the win, and I would pay to see them do it again. It may be more exciting after Zab has a couple more fights! BRAVO COTTO & ZAB -- and THANK YOU BOTH!!!!

judah didn't throw enough in the later rounds..it is frustrating to watch him sometimes because cotto left himself wide open to shots and zab didnt take them...anyone who thinks cotto would beat mayweather is a fool...mayweather would tattoo his ass and make him look like a joke with all the openings he gives.
no rematch. forget it. When you take a beating and get ball busted in a fight, it takes a lot out of you. This fight reminded me a lot of Vargas vs. Trinidad...the styles and everythign werent the same, but it had similiar occurances...
Low blow fest, each fighter getting hurt at times, one fighter just beating the other down the stretch, and a very exciting fight to watch! Lots of drama, they both were bleeding a lot too. Judah is not going to be quite the same after this, but everyone give him credit, he was tough as nails.
Besides, most of all, I just want the winner of Margarito vs. Williams to fight Cotto. Williams and Margarito are expected to put on a hell of a show too, and if they both do, the winner of that fight vs. Cotto is going to be one hell of a fight to see! I dont want it messed up be rematch fests.
________
CLEAR TRICHOMES
It was an exciting fight......Judah is full of shit tho and has failed me for the last time.....He'd be clipped if he were in the Mob so to speak. He could have easily beaten Cotto had he let his hands go.He was landing 50% or better for a good protion of the fight but only throwing 20-30 punches a round.Cotto did what he does and overwhelmed him in the long run.....The low blows played little part in the fight if you ask me.Judah should have taken the full 5 minutes if they hurt so bad.....I would have been pissed about the delay but it would have been within the rules and at least he would'nt have said what he said after the fight about the low blows.
Well deserved, as he's one of the best and most exciting fighters in the sport right now.
He's solid I don't think he's that spectacular. He fought a guy who is known to quit. I'd like to see him get in there with Shane.
If Zab wants a rematch he should get one but not after allowing himself to move down the ranks and take out some ESPN fighters. He needs some more wins. BTW those were obvious low blows right on the balls. That was cheap and the fact that they were consecutive low blows made it seem deliberate. WTF! It possibly could have been a 11 or 12 round fight to give ZAB a puncher's chance. Zab stunned Cotto a lot and should have kept it up. But I know if I get hit in the nuts it would definitely drain some stamina. How bout yall?
Any word on the Antonio Tarver fight? Or is it not worthy of a fight to watch?
What a shame now we have to see a million Cotto threads for the next some odd months.
Well deserved, as he's one of the best and most exciting fighters in the sport right now.
Is Judah makinf an excuse for the low blows hurting him and becoming the X factor in Cottos win and just making an excuse for all of his bashing about Cotto
hes zab judah, a fighter from brooklyn, and another spoiled american fighter. of course hes making an excuse!
Rematch? Don't Even Think About It, Zab fans
after losing 3 of his last four and not having a victory since may of '05, the last thing on zab's mind should be another title shot. yes, the low blows were bad and they looked intentional (at least the 2nd one did). but they didnt affect the outcome. cotto pressured, bullied, and won. zab caught him with a few good left hands and showed that cotto's chin hasnt really improved since moving up in weight.
the start of the fight was pretty ugly. low blows, accidental headbutts, and a lot of blood in just the first couple of rounds. but by round 5, cotto kept coming and coming and coming and zab just couldnt get away or find cotto's chin. he took a knee in the 10th and was dropped in the 11th and he had no legs left. it was a good stoppage, there was no need for it to continue. zab had no chance after the knockdown.
cotto fans, it was a good win, a good fight, and a good result. the cotto train rolls on.
zab fans, its over. dont even try to make excuses about the low blows. and a rematch shouldnt even be suggested, thats just stupid. hes 0-3 with one no contest and his last fight was a knockout loss. even suggesting a rematch, let alone demanding one, is just fucking stupid.
cotto's star continues to rise, zab's is all but extinguished.
Great fight for boxing...
Judah showed a lot of heart and Cotto showed that he is for real. I don't think the rematch would be any different but i hated to see the brutal low blows that Judah took. That would affect any man.
Chavez Jr. looked good again and i think it is time he steps up the competition.
Chad Dawson would destroy Tarver.
Soto vs Pac was a war! I want to see Soto vs Manny now!
Is Judah making an excuse
Is Judah makinf an excuse for the low blows hurting him and becoming the X factor in Cottos win and just making an excuse for all of his bashing about Cotto
i dont like excuses but u gotta admit, those accidental low blows had impeccable timing. The first one, Cotto was stunned, and a few seconds later, bam ...
if you think about it, the two rounds Zab won were the two rounds he ended up getting low blowed ..
Cotto wins a rematch though
