I know a MMA fighter from round here who fought Dan Severn and he was doing really well against Severn until Severn got him in some lock and choked him out. But this same guy has been knocked out a few times in MMA matches against people with a boxing background and eveytime hes been knocked out its been because his opponent has opened up on him with good solid boxing combinations. Its horses for courses I guess but overall from what I've seen MMA fighters dont take the punches aswell as boxers take comparable shots.

The kicks those guys take to the head would be harder than a punch. The leg is the most powerful weapon we have, it's just that most of us don't use it. Have you seen Fedor being slammed into the canvas head first against Randleman and then winning? That guy is as tough as anyone.

They cant take head trauma aswell as a boxer can and cant punch in combos the same.

They can take trauma from head shots all right, they just can't beat a boxer at his own damn game and no one should expect them to.

My ex neighbor whos a boxer knows this guy that had sparred with Tua a few times in San Antonio,and he said Tua dislocated his jaw with 22oz gloves on.DAMN! My neighbor said he wasnt the same afterwards.The guy with the fucked up jaw that is. he is so powerful its ridiculous. That guy who kimbo is fighting in that video looked like he could have won that fight if he would have moved a bit more...Kimbo ate a nice straight punch and got rocked. I wouldn`t be surprised if tua knocked kimbo with one of his jabs.
