The one thing I don't here any of you guys say much is how Judah also has the ability to KO Cotto. First off we know Cotto doesn't have a stelar chin and second, it's not as if Judah can't punch.
I will go on the record and say I think Judah will win the fight. Most that agree will say that he will win by a decision and by boxing. I am starting to think that maybe Judah has a better chance of KO Cotto out than Cotto does him.
Again it also depends on which Judah shows. If the Judah that showed up for Mayweather shows, I believe he can beat Cotto. If the Judah that showed up against Baldomir shows up, he will lose. What do you guys think the chances of Judah KO Cotto are?
Cotto has an above avg. chin, at 147lbs he has walked thru shots...Chautemocahahaca, you're Mexican.. When does a Mexican EVER root for a PR? The level of envy is rediculous. Mexicans do take a nice glove to the center of face though..it may not look brilliant, or skillful..but it sure is funny.
Now with this BS "which Judah shows up" < Thjat has more to do with what he is ALLOWED to do in the ring. I see you alreadyhave your excuse lined up...
For the record: I don't like Mexicans. I find them to be sneaky little people and chronically envious of Puerto Ricans. Orale puessssssss entoncesssssssss
Are you Puerto Rican? Or do you not have enough balls to show your true colors? Why would Mexican's be envious of Puerto Ricans?? That question baffles me.............

Would you guys stop the "what Judah will show up" argument? Its getting old already, the man just spent 8 weeks training his ass off in some hick town for the best performance of his life. About Judah having a better chance of KOing Cotto than Cotto KOing Judah, all I can tell you is Cotto ain't no Chino Rivera. Quintana who has a great KO ratio couldn't put a dent on Cotto and hit him with all he had. At 147 Cotto aint weight drained anymore and is gonna take Judah's head off.
Get your favorite pillow and take some Nyquil, now go to bed.
Cotto TKO11.
I do think, however, that this fight will be great for the first 4-5 rounds until Zab tires and gets on his bike. He may make it to the final bell but I can't see him winning this fight, not after Cotto withstands early assaults and wears Judah down to the body.
I think this is a pretty typical response from people who are picking Judah.
"Judah has good power"
"Cotto has a weak/shaky/suspect chin"
"If Judah A shows up he'll win, if Judah B shows up he loses"
I see a lot of Judah people covering their tracks. I know that there are some folk on this board that are hard to take...but just be a fan. No need to try and split hairs so that you'll look good on a message board regardless of the outcome. If you're taking Judah, just take Judah...if it's Cotto just take Cotto outright...no ifs, ands, or buts.
Basically what I'm getting at is Judah will win if he's the better fighter...or Cotto will win if he's the better fighter. I think Cotto is just outright better than Judah and he'll win this fight. I believe that Judah needs a fragile opponent in front of him right now and Miguel Cotto is not that guy. Cotto will fight smart, he'll find Judahs body, and his surprising speed will lead to several hard shots being landed upstairs. I'm taking Cotto by mid-late round stoppage. I have followed Cotto for a long time now and I know that this kid has all kinds of skill and determination, regardless of his late struggles at 140.
As far as Judah stopping Cotto, I think that would most likely result from Judah's handspeed and Cotto's small reach. Cotto is vulnerable when he starts throwing power shots to make his way inside instead of being patient and working inside intelligently. Judah being a lefty with fast hands and all...that could lead to him landing something that Cotto doesn't see on his way inside.
To blindly pick one guy over the other when you are not emotionally attached is not easy. I will for sake of argument go ahead and pick Judah to win this fight. It's not about covering my tracks or wanting one guy to win over the other. It's more about the difficulty of picking this specific fight and wondering how good Cotto really is. I know you pro-Cotto guys are sold he's a super star and the next great Puerto Rican fighter but I'm not sold on him just yet. Fact is he hasn't showed well in his big fights, getting knocked down twice and there are still alot big names out there for him to fight to really prove he is the best.
To be honest with you I actually hope Cotto wins because I would like to see the match up everyone is talking about and thats Cotto vs Margarito. I think this fight would be better and bigger for boxing. And just for the record, because I have been accused of hating Puerto Rican fighters on this forum by some, I actually like Cotto as a person. He seems very humble and well spoken (in spanish) and seems to carry himself with alot of class.
In saying all that, Judah by 11th round TKO. Ref stops the fight....
Lets not forget who they were against.
Very true, they weren't world beaters at all. I used that statement to reflect that fact that Judah can punch. And if an opponent shouldn't be in the ring with him, it becomes abundantly clear early in the fight. Cotto only has 1 first round KO which isn't indicative of the type of power he has, but more so of the fact that he's late starter.
I should have touched on the fact that when Judah has an opponent hurt, he finishes them. Very few opponents survived after Judah has them on queer street. And out of the 39 fights, 30+ have been knocked down. And I feel Cotto will be put down on Saturday, possibly early.
Exactly. If Zab respects your boxing ability then he will be fully prepared for you. He's definitely prepared and in shape for this fight considering that fact that it could be his last hurrah. Make no mistake about it he's skilled enough to KO his opponents from rounds 1 to 12, and he has the ability to box (when in shape).
Everyone can see he is hungry. Remember this is the guy who took a $100,000 purse to fight Cory Spinks (for the Undisputed Championship) in his own hometown, while Spinks made $1,200,000. We all saw the results. And it isn't as if Spinks can't take a punch. He took some good shots from Ricardo Mayorga, Roman Karmazin, and Jermain Taylor. All of those fighters can punch, so that shows you what type of pop Zab is working with. Let's not forget the 7+ first round KOs on his ledger.
The question is not can Zab outbox Cotto because he can. The question is can Cotto take Zab's best shots. Both of those guys have shaky chins, but we all know whose chin will be touched first. It's an interesting fight to say the least. Both guys have the ability to win. I just happen to think Zab will win.
Lets not forget who they were against.
Yeah if the Zab that fought Spinks and Corley turns up then its a easy night for Zab!!!

For the 200th time, I say the fight won't go past the 6th Round - Judah wins by TKO, he is simply too fast for Cotto and will be able to land big shots before Cotto can get his bombs off....
Judah by TKO Round 6 or sooner...
I think it'll be the other way around. Cotto by TKO 9TH right...
But if you insist I'll say 6TH.
i actually think the only way zab can beat cotto is koing him before 5, otherwise, when zab runs out of gas, cottos gonna bring it to zab and KTFO...
Cotto by KO

Your last paragraph is the key to this fight. Cotto is young, and a little impatient. Watch the Corley fight again. He tends to get inside and trade early on, before settling down and fighting his best fight. It's one of the reasons Cotto is exciting to watch, and also why he'll most likely lose this one due to an early stoppage. Judah wil find him with a few big left hands within the first few rounds, and while Cotto isn't exactly weak chinned, if Corley can make him see stars, I think Judah will introduce him to the canvas more than once. Judah is also a decent finisher.
The ONLY way this doesn't happen is if Cotto resists the youthful urge to get inside and trade bombs with Judah. That's my caveat. Like it or not, this is one of those fights where you have to give an "If-Then" statement. Like I said before, if I were privy to what's going on in Cotto's camp, and his frame of mind the day or so before the fight, I'd feel comfortable making a solid call, and betting a bundle on it. It's been awhile since I made a large bet on an upset (last one was Trinidad/Wright, made a small fortune). They come around less frequently all the time, due to the piss-poor matchups we're seeing more and more often in our favorite sport.
For the 200th time, I say the fight won't go past the 6th Round - Judah wins by TKO, he is simply too fast for Cotto and will be able to land big shots before Cotto can get his bombs off....

By who? You? Hatton won that fight, tatics or not. BUT Hatton got pretty much all he wanted when he fought Collazo. I might even have misspelled dukes name. You see where I'm going with this? Hatton had to go down to 140. To fight Castillo. Who PBF beat TWICE. Their first fight could have been up to debate, but the second time, PBF whooped him.
Margirito, Hatton, I don't think it matters. Give Mayweather the money, and he is going to smash both of them. Hatton dosen't want it with Floyd NOOOOO...
Tszyu, at the time had one of the biggest right hands in the game. Judah got hit with it, did the chicken dance LOL, and lost. But its not like Cotto has a granite beard either. He has been put on his ass before. I'm hoping for a Hagler-Hearns type shootout between the two.
Kostya Tzyu has been overrated since Hatton and Judah fought him.
But Judah is way fucking better than Torres.
in some capacities maybe. Torres hits harder and is much more agressive. For what it's worth his record going into that fight was 28-0 26KO's. And Cotto took the fight with him on short notice.

What's funny is that everyone talks about Cotto not fighting anyone but what credible fighter has Zab beaten in his career. Everytime he's stepped up in oppostion he's lost. The only good fighter that he beat was Spinks which he lost the first time around too. Roman Karmazin almost beat spinks..come on. I'll name the last 12 fights he's had & results. Judge for yourselves
Ruben Galvan--NC
Floyd Maywether--L-UD
Carlos Baldomir--L--UD
Cosme Rivera--W--TKO
Spinks--W--TKO
Wayne Martell--TKO--This was a funny one may I add.
Rafael Pineda--W--SD
Cory Spinks--L--UD
Jaime Rangel--W--KO
Demarcus Corley--W--SD
Omar Weiss--W--UD
Wait guys it's getting interesting...
Kostya Tszyu--L--TKO2
If Cotto wasn't stopped by that barrage from Torres and only hit the canvas when pulled down Judah wont stop him, the only way he wins is by descision. If he trades with Cotto he'll get killed.
But Judah is way fucking better than Torres.
