Don't laugh, Ottke was one of the hardest punchers around.
The guy only KO'd SIX of his opponents, a so-called ATG should have a greater KO % than that. It's not is if he fought great fighters all his career. He deserves a smidgen of respect but his record suggests that if their ever was a 'paper' champion, then Mr Ottke deserved that bestowed title.
I sparred with Ottke before and know his background very well. He went to (QUALIFIED FOR) the olympics THREE times and beat some of the best amateurs in the world including future 2 time heavyweight champ Michael Moorer. As a pro he beat some very tough comp including Brewer. If he had some close fights thats OK because a lot of guys do...but to say Ottke was a "JOKE" is very, very, very innaccurate
oh yeah, ottke in his prime had serious skills, was very good defensively also, towards the end of his carrer the bad decisons started i think, but he wasnt a bum really.
In a way I wish Ottke had of fought Markus Beyer, two very skilled warriors going at it in a war for the ages. It's a shame, because they only fought the best they're whole careers. Two of the best Super Middles of all time fighting each other.
That was the fight that boxing needed. But Ottke has the best legacy between them, not to mention one of the best of our time.
I laugh when I look at the slo mo replay of the KO punch when Ottke caught Mundine, it looked lile a slap to the temple

I totally agree with you, to be disrespecting one of the greatest fighters of all time is no Joke. Ottke should be very proud of what he's achieved in the ring, which has transformed him into a legend of our time.
Mundine was leading in the fight, he had only 12 pro fights and little experience before that. Ko had much to do with exhaustion, plus it was on the temple as far as I remember.
I'm really sure that Iceman isn't Ottke :-)
I've seen some of Ottke's fights, I thought Larsen beat him, I thought Brewer beat him the one I've seen and also Mitchell
But man that pillow punch KO of Mundine will enhance his legacy as long as Mundine doesn't get flattened
And that thing about James Toney? Dude he did the same hurt stuff against Michael Rush to get the guy to open up, then he finally opened up in round 10 and leveled the guy. I admit though that his conditioning is more terrible now and also his speech is getting more slurred to the point where I cringe when I hear him speak.
Who has KO'd Mundine since Ottke did?
The fella obviously had to have some skill or else he wouldn't have lasted against some of these guys especially punchers on his ledger

i'm not a fan of green atall, both him and mundine are average at best and have lost all of their meaningful fights.
This is very true and to get KTO by Ottke is a joke.
If anyones a bitch its Ottke for defending his title against someone who only had ten bouts under his belt before fighting for ottkes title!!! Which he came very close to winning!!! You must be one of the many Danny Green Nuthuggers in here that cant understand how easy Mundine made it look when he kick ten different types of shit out of Green!!!

i don't see why everyone hates ottke, it was the judges who gave him the decisions, plus he knocked out that loud-mouthed bitch mundine.

Ottke is a Legend, he'll be remembered for his brilliant record, his willingness to fight anyone any where. I feel sorry for the guy, he's bared the brunt of some really bad decisions in some of his fights.
He always had a fighters heart. Boxing misses you Ottke.
