Oh, I see you threw a jab; There are still seats? They had to open the top mezzanine in order for a full house. Which means Cotto is starting to fill seats eventhough 1/3 will be Judah fans
Damn...
I have to make the trip to NYC next year to watch his fight, and for the parade.
why not this year? seats still available, and this is one of COTTOS best matchups
Since PUERTO RICANS love boxing, and they take it seriously, are they gonna show up for the undercard fights, and not JUST the main event?
Saw Cotto live last year, at the Garden. When Tito Trindad fought...you couldn't find an empty seat in the house! Always sold out...COMPLETELY! You talk about ear piercing, drum busting noise?! No joke, it must've reached decibal 3, louder than Yankee Stadium. Miguel Cotto has yet to fill in all the seats. Though for the Zab Judha fight, it looks like his largest crowd thus far.
I tell you though, the beer line is crazy long, so you might miss the first couple of fights, but when you start hearing the Salsa music...PANDAMONIUM!
I like watching John Duddy, but I had to get my beer in before Cotto makes his way to the ring. But when you hear Michael Buffer say....."LLLLLLETS GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLE"...shit gets crazy! Go Cotto, TKO 9th!
Im remember last year during the Duddy fight his wife was sitting near us yelling her ass off "Come on baby hit him, come on, come on" finally this Puerto Rican turned around and told her to stfu! She didnt take lightly to it and called him a mother fucker and told him to stfu, it was hilarious. Then they got into with some Irish guys sitting behind me, but 20 mins later they were all grabbing drinks for eachother. I had a blast last year and i'm heading back on Friday to do it again!

I've been to all 3 of his fights at the garden and so far everyone comes in early. I know I will... I'm getting my $200 worth of boxing that night. I remember last year was crazy when Duddy was fighting everyone was cheering him on. The undercard was good and this year it looks like it will be the same.
Tonight they will replay the cotto Maliggnaggi fight on MSG. So Eventhough I was ther, I can see it on a big screen and really see what this so called silence is all about. I was there and in no moment was the crowd silenced. And yes, we were calling Paulie guido and maligg***gi. But no body stepped up so I guess it's all good.
Well by LOOK IT I'm pretty sure you mean you have a Malignagi/Growing up Gatti look to yourself. I remember seeing a few of you guys there but at the end of the fight there wasn't this silence you speak of. It was loud as all hell. The fight was exciting and the crowd was loud.
you mean gotti?
I remember seeing a fight in the crowd with Cotto vs Malignaggi. I have a feeling this one is gonna be a chaos Cotto VS Judah and i cant wait!! Im glad I have an end seat! haha
I have a feeling the crowd will be packed before the Soto fight is even on. This is the Garden. Its not like Vegas.
yea
when i went to KLITSCHKO-BROCK, the arena was packed for LAILA ALI. SHe got an AMAZING reception. that was awsome
Funny thing was, by the end of the fight they were pretty much silenced cause Paulie showed to be tough as nails with a lot of heart.
I love Paulie, but if his fans think we were "silenced" by his performance they are flat out hallucinating. Look at the beating Paulie took. He got it worse than anyone who has ever faced Cotto, and that's saying A LOT.
I was there at the garden last year and there was a huge puerto rican crowd but there were a lot of Irish (white) fans because that Notre Dame football heavyweight (Zbkowski?) and John Duddy had fights that night. I remember it was annoying because I had some short, fat Puerto Ricans yelling and jubilating in irritating Hispanic gibberish in my ear because I'm Italian and look it, so they were mocking us indirectly, I'm pretty sure. Funny thing was, by the end of the fight they were pretty much silenced cause Paulie showed to be tough as nails with a lot of heart. I hope ZAB eradicates the predictable plodder Cotto. :)

Yeah, I was there and it has always been huge crowds for the pre-parade fights. I remember all the way to the pre-parade fight with Tito-Mayorga. There were tons of nicaragua flags and PR flags it was good times with some friendly banter going both ways.
Most PR's that go to the pre-parade fight make it a central part of an already busy weekend of festivals, open concerts, parties, BBQ's and clubbing so its a fun atmosphere.
Interesting fact is that this is not the first per-parade card Judah has been in.
I was wondering that also K-ball. I think alot of people will show up because of a few New York fighters. Im going to be at the fights when the gates open and I would feel akward cheering and getting excited for the opening bouts when there only a few people there...lol
