Calzaghe: I'll destroy Kessler!

There is little doubt that Joe Calzaghe is one of the best boxers in the world. If he brings his A-game I expect him to beat Kessler. The question is, what if he performs poorly again? It is not clear to me that the kind of performce he put on against Bka will get him the win against Kessler. I think Joe will get himself right up for this fight the same way he did against Lacy he knows he has a lot of doubters out there and will see this as a great chance to stamp his mark again. He'll be on the same form as when he beat Lacy and will beat Kessler without a doubt.

Kessler might be more highly skilled then Lacy but Calzaghes not a bad boxer himself. There is little doubt that Joe Calzaghe is one of the best boxers in the world. Calzaghe had a clear style advantage over Lacy. That doesn't make Lacy a bum as he has been characterized by the hindsight commandos. He is a puncher with a flawed style. Kessler is a different kind of cat. He may not have Lacy's firepower, but he has much better fundamentals. It was the lack of good fundamentals that made Lacy an easy victim for Calzaghe. I personally can't see how Calzaghe's hands can hold up to another 12 round battle like this,he will be KO by Kessler Kessler is hype upto now, same as Lacy was. I expect a repeat performance from Joe he'll totally outclass Kessler no way Kesslers knocking him out. Jones is well past his best now but in his prime no one around middle /supermiddle/light heavy nowadays wouldve beaten him.

i think jones would beat kessler and calzaghe.. calzaghe is fast but throws wide shots.. and kesslers defense isnt tight enough to pressure jones non stop .. he will get pop shotted.. jones legs are too fast

Sounds good. I agree. But Kessler is not complete garbage. :no: He could fuck up most any "conventional" fighter. But Calzaghe will be all over him. :fing02: I don't think Calzaghe's opponents understand his will.. He's fire. Kessler will get eaten. Why wasn't Bika "eaten?" :thinking: Calzaghe has never faced anybody as good as Kessler. Taking a step up in competition at an advanced age is a high risk proposition.

I dont mind who wins this one, i just hope its a great fight...i see Calzaghe winning on points though

You do realise he's had these problems all his career don't you. Does Kessler have an especially hard head? I agree with you that if kessler wins he wins by KO. There is absolutely no chance of a Kessler decision victory unless it is an absolute robbery.

its just my opinion. I can see flaws in Kessler that will be exposed. I dont think he's difficult to hit and has a poor defence. His footwork is bad and he hasn't fought anyone on Calzaghe's level. Maybe he will prove me wrong; but i think his only chance is if Calzaghe's ego takes over like it did againt Mitchell and he gets drawn into a slugfest. Even then, Kessler could get knocked out. I just think Calzaghe has more ways of winning, and Kessler only has one, a lucky punch.
