Do the HBO people actually watch any of the boxing broadcasts? How do they not know that Lewis is terrible? Roy Jones was pretty good, the guy who I want to see on the air is Bernard Hopkins. If not Hopkins then Antonio Tarver. I guarantee that both of those guys would be more than willing to take the job. Lewis is kind of comical because he is so terrible, but I would rather a competent broadcaster in there.

I was just watching Tua vs Ibeabuchi and noticed that Merchant commented on on the physique of Ike. In the Wlad vs Byrd fight he went all out and said that Wlad was a beautiful man. I think he also mentioned Roys body once... WTF is up with that? He seems to pay attention too much attention on the boxers bodies and not enough on the ring card girls bodies..

Lennox Lewis is the MADDEN of boxing... that NFL dude was always known for stating the obvious too.

ROUND 2: PAVLIK MIRANDA He says something like, "Well now Pavliks got some blood streaming down his nose, so he definetly got hit in the nose." Lewis says some dumb **** like, Lampley "Lennox, do you agree that Mayweather should circle left, and possibly into the right hand, in order to avoid Trinidads left hook?" Lewis " absolutely... he definately doesnt wanna get hit with that left hook Mayweather,... that Trinidads money punch right there, but Trinidad also has a nice right hand and he wants to avoid that at all costs or else it could definately be a short night for him if he eats too many of them." Foreman would ALWAYS find a way to slip in " He has to mooove FFAAAHHWWWWWOORRD!" ahaha and Manny Steward always seems upset and critical and like a party pooper. Instead of calling whats going on and making comments he gets a depressed voice and says the same thing over and over... Merchant "Business........ is picking up" Lampley " What a war!, Junior Witter is now firing back at Margarito as if to say 'come on, Im not backin down' and we have a possible classic shapin up here in round 4!" Steward "Yeah ... but I dont see this going much further, if Witter keeps taking body shots like that hes eventually going to fade and be stopped. Lennox is hillarious! He cracks me up, I am sure he is not near as dumb as he comes across. Stewart is a good comentator though. He offers insight on why fighters might be doing what they are doing, and why the trainer may have told them what they did. I also rather liked Roy Jones as a commentator, easy to look at and he can articulate what is happening far more than "he should jab more". I always thought that Tyson would be a good commentator too, he has such a vast knowledge of the sport. That and he seems to have so many bad things in his life it would be good to see him every now and then to know he was ok.

lewis is better then manny strawed Bullshit! Is he funnier? Hell yes, but Manny can articulate what he's saying much better than Lennox, and he also comes up with original things to say. Lennox is always saying the same shit, "He's got to use that jab!" "Definately has got to use that jab!" "Absolutely!" etc.

Lewis is terrible, but f'ing hilarious. His utterly uninformed insight into the swelling of the face because of blowing your nose cracked me up. Also Merchant had me rolling the entire night. In fact all of them minus Lampley's stupid Elmer Fudd comments had me going the entire broadcast. I in fact had a buddy over who is indifferent on boxing and I made him watch the telecast just because of the commentating crew. My favorite part was when Lampley stated that he felt the weight loss was effecting Miranda, Merchant quickly interceded and stated that he thought it Pavlik that was effecting Miranda. On a side note, the funniest thing I have ever seen on HBO, was a BAD telecast in which they had some young heavyweight on there and Kellerman was talking aobut the last heavyweight champion in the world was Lewis and Lewis popped into the screen from the distance and leaned in with a goofy-asss look on his face and since then he has been cracking me up.

I do think that Lennox has much more chemistry with the BAD team. Even then hes still pretty bad though.

Lewis is absolutly terrible, I like Foreman and RJJ, I think RJJ had the most knowledge of the sport and could talk about it very well but his voice it weird and he talks too fast.

lol at the lewis quotes. he's like the john madden of boxing, saying the obvious. but hey its bad, but at the same time entertaining.

Other than Foreman's bias towards the punchers, I enjoyed his commentating.

I was thinking about starting a Lennox commentary thread myself. #1- "Palvik's doin' a good job...." lmao- He kept calling him Palvik throughout the whole fight. #2-Lampley:"Lennox, is it true what they say that you're not supposed to blow your nose because it can make you swell up?" Lennox:"Yes, what happens is..it will make you swell right up." HaHa!!! I love it!

Yeah I have to say Lennox is one of the worst commmentators I've ever heard. A lot of the comments he makes are obvious and you could do without. Bring back George! At least he was a real classy guy and a lot of the bizarre crap he said made sense. Sorta like Merchant's, except you usually gotta be buzzed to get the full meaning out of it.

Hes so bad hes funny.
