miranda was not dehydrated, he wasnt "out of it", and weight was not the issue. it was psychological.
as soon as the fight started, pavlik backed up miranda and miranda didnt expect it. he thought he was gonna be the aggressor and just bull over pavlik. when kelly pressured him, he lost his gameplan, he lost his cool, he didnt have a plan "B", and he had no choice but to fight going backwards and off the ropes. pantera didnt expect to take so much damage, he didnt count on pavlik being so aggressive.
just like teddy atlas said about tyson: "when he hit them and they didnt fall, when he stared at them and they stared back, he came up empty."
Difference between a fan and a nuthugger:
Nuthugger says "Miranda was dehydrated, that's why he lost"
Fan says: "Miranda lost because Pavlik was the better fighter, but Pantera showed a lot of heart and if he improves his defensive skills he has a chance of winning a rematch"
I agree, good post,im a Miranda fan but he did lose to the better man,Pavlik had that fire in him yesterday
what if he landed 4 or 5 , man i'm telling you miranda was different last night. What if he landed 25 or 30 in a row? "What ifs" are best served for wacky cross-era discussions that can't happen, not as a way to imagine how someone who got beat would've won. I mean, what ifs have no end.....what if both of these guys were heavyweights, and Miranda weighed 400 lbs. ripped and Pavlik weighed 250? Miranda got smoked by a better fighter...how about asking yourself; What if he was a better fighter?
He's tough, but he got waxed by someone better...period.
When he landed about three hard rights in a row and Pavlik kept coming, I knew it was over.
