He fought the perfect fight.
A great great fight that was.
I won all my bets, Kelly by KO. won 14 bucks :D
I thought EDISON MIRANDA was "exposed" in many ways in that fight.
Not that hes a bad fighter, cause he isn't. that would be taking away from a near perfect performance by PAVLIK.
But MIRANDA can NOT fight going backwards. He seemed clueless. And he CANNOT adjust during the fight. I dont think anybody could have stopped Pavliks right hand tonight, but MIRANDA didnt even show an attempt.
I still think MIRANDA is a great fighter, and i wouldnt call someone crazy for predicting MIRANDA in a rematch.
When Miranda goes forward he's a great fighter, going backwards he's completely different.
We all KNEW as a fact, before this fight, that MIRANDA was wild, he made mistakes technically, and he wasnt as good going backwards as he is forwards. But we all THOUGHT he had the power to balance it out.
Maybe he does have that power, and maybe Pavlik does have that chin, but i think Pavlik just hits so much harder and heavier then Miranda, and it was the difference in the fight.
Cause remember, Miranda landed 4 or 5 consecutive right hands, Pavlik didnt even move.
Lay off the crack pipe :omfg:
Regardless of what you say someone should drag up posts prior to this with the way you were riding Miranda and talking about how Pavlik would get fucked up. You've jumped ship like you were on the Titanic. Being just as brash and illogical in your statements except now you're riding Pavlik.
Miranda took tons of good, solid shots. He showed a decent beard, too. If you think otherwise you are the one on crack.
This fight will go down in boxing history as fight that was as good as Hearns vs Hagler, and it went farther! I take my hat off to both fighters, and it was a priveledge to be ringside to witness this GREAT fight! I hope I can find a full copy of the fight and the undercard online !!!
Yeah I hate the word exposed. It's overrated on this forum. (I also hate overrated abit). Miranda wasn't really exposed, he was outgunned. Miranda could beat any other middleweights out there, but no Pavilik. Simple as that. Pavilik fought Miranda's style of fight and got the better of it. Not many other fights can say they can do that. Fuck, I don't think any other fighter would attempt it! Now that guy has balls!
i think you may be right when you said no other middle weight could have pulled off what Pavlik did when he took the fight to Miranda, forcing him backwards and taking him out of his game. Smart smart fight plan. Miranda was not Exposed! as so many people like to throw that term around on bs he just ran into a guy who was big enough to brawl with him but also had all the tools to take advantage of his weaknesses. Pavlik was a master at keeping his correct punching distance and using good footwork moving in and out. He also showed some decent D keeping his hands up and blocking a lot of punches. I'll give this dude an A on his performance.
The huge difference is that Pavlik can take a punch, Miranda obviously can't. :) And those are just marks on his face. Mirandas fucking eyes were completely closed off. He couldn't even see out them!!!
miranda can take a punch just not as many as pavlik landed. not too many fighters could of took half the shots that miranda took.
Well, he obviously couldn't take Pavliks punches. Or he would have walked through pavlik
???
Ur just an idiot man
He was just getting hit with far to many punches. He absorbed a lot of punishment in that fight before he was actually hurt

Miranda can't take a punch?
PAVLIK landed 3 or 4 FLUSH Right hands in the first few rounds that sent Miranda sprawling halfway across the ring.
Both guys can take a punch, Miranda just could land many flush shots.
Miranda landed one big uppercut, and it did buzz Pavlik, but he ate and then landed his own left
INCREDIBLE is the only word to describle last night's all-out war between two of the best middleweights in world. For me, last night's fight was the most exciting boxing match I've ever seen and IMO this year's FOTY.
Both fighters displayed tremendous courage and heart in this all-out war. Pavlik however fought the smarter fight backing Miranda into the ropes where he was able to dissect Pantera's defense and throw him off his rytham and minimize his punching power. Infact, I think that Miranda totally punched himself out after the first two or three rounds and could never really recover from that and Pavlik's constant barrage of punches. Before the KO, I had Pantera only winning one round to Pavlik's 6.
However, if my recollection is right, Miranda landed some pretty hard combo's that had Pavlik wobbled and 'on the verge.' To his credit, Pavlik was able to weather the storm and fire back with his offense.
Anyways, all-in-all, just a tremendous fight between two warriors which not only lived up to the hype but exceeded it in light years. Kelly Pavlik really proved himself last night as the number one contender and one of the most entertaining and fan friendly fighters out there. In contrast, Miranda showed that he has incredible heart to get up and continue after getting hit with some of the hardest punches I've seen by a middleweight boxer. Last night was a great night to be a boxing fan!!
he got pretty clobbered too. I dont want to hear he wasnt getting hit. Hes a tough sonofa *****.

^And yet he succumbed to punishments...if Miranda has Pac's heart/stamina then he would have survived the full 12 IMO. I mean, I don't want to sound like a Pachugger but I can't stop comparing the two.
I saw Pac broke or damaged his 'left' in the 1st round vs JMM and survived the full 12 still firing 'lefts'...
I saw Pac's huge cut over the eye vs EM (Pac vs EM 1) and he survived the full 12 breathing his own blood...
I saw Larios 'rocked' Pac on the 3rd and saw Pac firing his own against Larios...
I mean, those 'might be lesser' than those 3 KD's suffered by Miranda...but fuck...If Manny could last full 12 with those and JMM could get up from 3 KD's in 1 round against the arguably hardest puncher P4P and survived the full 12 then why can't Miranda?
what r u talking about.
First of all, it was the REF that stopped the fight.
I bet Miranda would have gotten up AGAIN if Smogger let him, but thank god he didnt.
I mean, Pacquiao has a lot of heart, but when has he EVER shown that much? Never. Hes never come close to it. He's never gotten the oppurtunity even.
What A great fight but at the end me and my girl were a little sad for miranda especially with that documentary of his life before the fight. I am now a Pavlik fan he's the real American boy this mothe fucka can crack, It's about time theirs a real good white American fighter he should fight some of them boys across the sea since they allways want to prove themselves against americans. but i'm still a Miranda fan he'll be back!

Miranda and Pacquiao have lots in common...the only thing I think Miranda lacks is Manny's heart and stamina...
What you guys think?
IF there is anything Miranda has MORE of then Pacquiao, it would be heart.
How in the world he got up from even that first Knockdown was unbelievable. Theres just so much desire in EDISON MIRANDA
No. Pacquaio throws beautiful, fast punches in combination. He's not a 'boxer' but he doesn't have bad technique like Miranda.\
This is just the first of many points that speak against such a comparison.
Oh my bad, I forgot Pac's speed!
But then I'm only basing my comparison to the lines in bold...and that's about it.
Miranda lacks heart, speed and stamina of a Manny Pacquiao...
He fought the perfect fight.

What you guys think?
I've been telling people for years. I will take a smart fighter over a powerful fighter. In the end the intelligent fighter will win.
Then tell that to Pac...
...he'll prove you wrong.:fing02:
What an awsome fight, best I've ever seen, thrilling. Pavlik beat Miranda because unlike all of Miranda's other opponents, he wasn't scared of him and came straight at him, ate his punches and banged like all hell. I'll admit, I picked Miranda to win by a late round tko, but I said Pavlik had a great chance if he could withstand Miranda's punches and wear him down. Unfortuneately, the Taylor fight was as bad as the Pavlik fight was good.
I agree,u pretty much had the same thoughts as me,i had Pantera winning by late TKO,but i didnt count at Pavlik,i said it depends how they fight, and yes it was also the best fight ive seen live, better then Barrera-Marquez because these two hit so friggin hard! and the punches they were throwing where terrifying
And Miranda wasnt exposed,he put on a great fight but lost to the greater guy,u gota respect both fighters for doing what they did,i still think Miranda can beat Taylor,Abraham etc,but Pavlik is the better guy and the harder hitter
The Thing that stuck out most in my eyes, was the fact that PAVLIK ran out into the ring.
This is a guy that wanted to fight MIRANDA more then anything. He's as brave, skilled, and hungry as fighters get.
IF ONLY JERMIAN TAYLOR COULD HAVE BEEN LIKE THIS IN HIS PRIME... TAYLORS ONLY GOT A FEW MORE FIGHTS LEFT IN HIS PRIME, LETS SEE WHAT HE DOES WITH IT.

i never said he was fully exposed. More like he was shown as a one dimensional fighter. Its a hell of a dimension, but if anyone can take it away hes nothing but a tough guy.
Pavlik did come with the perfect game plan and executed it to perfection. I thought if anybody was going to dominate Miranda it was because he would straight outbox him. Pavlik on the other hand went into the belly of the beast and took charge and won the fight. He took shots and was stunned at times, but that didn't stop him as he went ahead with his gameplan. He just wore down Mirand and took the fight out of him which I didn't know was possible. I give him much respect for his performance and hope he gets a shot at the title.
