Little Rock-based light heavyweight Ray Smith (7-1, 2KO), stablemate of Jermain Taylor opened up the show with a workmanlike decision over Houston’s Don Mouton (2-2, 2KO). Scores were 40-36 and 39-37 (2x).
Second fight: Joell Godfrey SD6 DeLeon Tinsley
Heavyweight Joell Godfrey (7-0-1, 4KO) barely preserved his unbeaten record with a tougher-than-expected split decision win against DeLeon Tinsley (7-1-1, 5KO). Scores were 58-56, 58-57 Godfrey, and 58-57 Tinsley. Tinsley complained that he was “robbed for the second time.” The few who showed up early seemed to agree, as the official announcement was met with a spattering of boos.
Jose Navarro-Roberto Gomez up now, 8 round super bantamweight fight.
Official time 0:43 of Round 7 (ring announcer fucked up, announced it as 2:17, but that's how long was left). Berto wins by TKO, now 18-0 (16KO)

were you at the fights? now reading back on this, you seemed to have caught this whole fight, quite a feat considering it wasn't televised, LOL.

Round 7
Berto stalks, while Clay's corner screaming at commission reps. With nothing going on... CLAY'S CORNER THROWS IN THE TOWEL! Berto winner, unofficialy 0:43 into the 7th round.
he's not carrying him, Clay just isn;t fighting back very much. Berto wants the knockout but needs a pair of skates to keep up w/ Clay's bike.

As I post that, Berto cracks Clay with compact left hook upstairs to deposit Clay on the canvas. Clay sits down before getting up at eight. Berto unloads in the corner, landing some but Clay doing a good job of slipping most and buying time. Clay escapes from croner, Berto lands right, Clay clinches. Clay lands right upstairs, Berto goes to body. Right hand by Berto, left hook as Clay clinches. Jab by Berto, right falls short. Digging left hooks to the body, as Clay covers up. Clay sticks out a jab, gets cracked with an overhand right. Left hook to the body by Berto, launches right gets caught with left hook. Berto grins and nods, stalks but doesn't get off any more as round ends.

Berto jab, offering shoulder roll defense as he's looking to set up the right. Clay sticks his head in Berto's chest, looking for an opening. Andre not giving him any openings. Berto slips a straight right, lands right, left and two rights in return. Right hand by Clay, right uppercut by Berto, along with three more shots. Clay paying dearly anytime he lets his hands go. Right left by Clay after Berto flicks jab. Berto stalks, feints jab, pulls back, slips right but short with counter shot. Left hook to the body by Clay. Left, left right by Berto, Clay on his bike, covering up.
