Danish press is reporting today that Palle has cancelled the meeting he was supposed to have with Frank Warren. Supposedly because he is tired of being the second choice, with Warren and Calzaghe having made it clear that they are after Taylor first. Palle on the other hand reveals that negotiations have started for a rematch against Anthony Mundine.
looks like he dont want it anymore. he knows joe would slap the shit outa kessler
Mundine is fighting Pablo Zamora Nievas 6/27. And already said he doesn't want to fight Kessler.
not exactly true. kessler was demanding an 80/20 purse split in australia which is bloody ridiculous.
i think palle is just sayin they want to negotiate with mundine to fuck with warren. mundine has his june fight sorted and another fight in new zealand in august so he's all booked up for a while.
you gotta be fucking kidding me mann..
lets say you are doing business, you have 3 options, then in negotiations you able to use this to your leverage.. when taking a loan in the bank, you approach one, and get your terms, approach the next and so on and on..
then you could say to one, i was offered this by them, so if you dont do better, in going to take my business elsewhere..
therefore if palle was taking negotiations, then warren would use taylor as his weapon, and palle wasnt going for it.. if taylor vs calzaghe doesnt come off, then where the fuck is joe gonna go.. which fight is going to get him so legacy then.. then warren will only have a possible kessler matchup, cause warren is running out options, and this is kind a like chess, who is in control and who has the upper hand
furthermore the relationship with palle and warren must be EXTREMELY bad, cause in a newspaper palle stated, that he also called of negotiations because this would cause warren, to have a bad starting point when starting negotiations with dibella
Exactly. Palle is an idiotic amateur. If he really thinks that this move will bring a Calzaghe fight one step closer he's more of an idiot than I gave him credit for. Quite, quite the opposite as anyone with any experience in anything other than being a keyboard warrior will know.
People say (rightly) that Warren has harmed Calzaghe's career. If I was a Kessler fan I'd be downright terrified what damage Palle will, and is, doing.
Onto Calzaghe, if he fights Inkin next then he's an idiot. He'd be better off waiting for the Hopkins fight for January.
Oh, and who said that Calzaghe's career will be finished on NSB if he doesn't fight Taylor or Kessler ... yeah, I'm sure that's high on his list of concerns. Right up there with who's going to win the finnish bog-snorkling championships and who's in Big Brother this year. Fucks sake.
I have to ask,
Calzaghe fans, what will you say if he fights Inkin next?
I'll be disappointed. I'll be equally unhappy with Kessler cos he'll have likely refused the fight in the end (after Taylor there is no doubt they'll go for Kessler) despite saying that he wanted it no matter what and will probably take an inferior opponent to even Inkin. I'll be annoyed with Taylor too.
Cant say that his career is over though, cos what if in his next three fights he knocks out Taylor, Kessler and Hopkins. Can only reflect on his career when he is finished it.
I'll be disappointed.
If he fights Ikin next, i would go as far as to say that his reputation is finshed in parts of america and here on NSB, i remember i used to read this board alot, Ricky Hatton was loved on here, everyone thought mayweather was afraid to fight him,
But when Hatton started to fight less than worthy opponents that was the end of him on here, he hasnt been taken seriously since lol.
If reckon if JC fights Ikin, NSB will see some serious activity.
I personally hope he fights Taylor.
Kessler is a very worthy opponent for Calzaghe he should be number one!!! Why chase the guys from lower weights like taylor has!!! maybe joe is scared of what kessler can do!!! He has good power and seems to be a good mover and very quick!!! I know joe is getting old and wants the big pay day now so maybe kessler is to much risk for not so much cash!!! Or maybe he underates kessler!!!
Equally puzzling given that Palle thinks there's no chance of Taylor reaching terms. So why pull out of talks then?
Who told you what Palle thinks? He does worry, off cause, but meeting with Warren before won’t put him in a better position. He can only hope they don't reach an agreement, otherwise it would just be waste of time.
Well, if that's how you do business over there it explains the lack of big fights in Denmark.

Why should we care?
Does it annoy you Calzaghe is Italian?
yes, it irritates me greatly, i wish he were 100% welsh...
i edited my last post ... i need to stop generating so much heat.
I don't know how you do business over there, but it's normal conduct to make the different negotiations in the same order as you prioritize them.
The outcome of the Taylor meeting means allot to Palle's negotiation options - right?
If the Taylor fight doesn’t happen, Warren has to make something happen with Kessler, it’s that simple. Otherwise we’re stuck with an Inkin fight next.
Palle can relax; there is nothing he can do at this point.
Bet is on.

They only fight that is reasonable at SMW is Calzaghe vs Kessler
both are 1 and 2 so fight to see who is the best ever but money wise if Calzaghe is going down to fight Taylor then there is good money in it and easy win because Taylor keeps his gaurd open and Calzaghe is bigger than Ouma that will throw harder punchs that will hurt Taylor fo sure
Deal. Although I have to figure out how that works.
Palle said the meeting was off. See your countryman's post below.
Why on earth couldn't they agree terms in the event of the Taylor fight not coming off?

So Palle shouldn't meet Warren because he's the second choice option? They say they've wanted this fight for years and now drop out a mere couple of days beforehand because they're not happy that Warren is also negotiating with somebody else. Well, boo bloody hoo. I'll happily state this now - Palle/Kessler are officially ducking Calzaghe. This can now not be disputed.
I'll happily take that bet. I'll say Calzaghe will face Taylor next. You say Inkin. Deal?
I'll be interested to see who Kessler's going to fight next, and where for that matter given the criticism of Calzaghe for only fighting at home and their hopes to crack the US market.
Deal! 10k?
why should he take a meeting with warren, if warren is relying on what happens at the Taylor meeting? What should they talk about until they know what's happening?
Palle never said it was off.

When was the Inkin fight signed then? Christ, the only people even mentioning it are the two pastries on here.
Taylor is the more attractive option than Kessler. Everyone knows that, however it seems the scandinavian ego's can't cope with being the second (at best) option. Shame.
I agree with Taylor being an attractive choice for Calzaghe + he's a guy he could beat.. I'm sure that matters to.
The Taylor fight isn't signed either, and Taylors demands seems far away from those off Warren.
I hope you Brits fans won't have to make excuses about Calzaghes choice of opponent, like you had the last two times, but i doubt it.
SHB - Do you wan't to make a bet about who Calzaghe fights next?
And off cause Palle shouldn't waste his time on a meeting 2 days before Warren is to meet with Taylors people. That would be stupid.
If JT-JC can be made on terms warren would like, it would be done so, no matter what Palle says two days before.
If it isn't made, Warren can't use Taylor to put pressure on Palle.
