Good post. I like Hatton more cuz hes @ least got the balls to move up in weight and fight here where the real boxing takes place. Manfredo stoppage was sooo suspect. What was suspect about it? You're pretty new, so you may not have been around. So allow me to repeat some of the things I said at the time: The irony of this ridiculous post is that it actually is rooted in some truth. Manfredo probably does deserve a rematch (of course, he wont get one, quite rightly), not because of a competetive bout or an unfair decision but because of a very premature stoppage and he can go throughout his career claiming that. And people can avoid Calzaghe claiming that he is a protected fighter. All because the ref stopped the fight anywhere between 10 seconds (Calzaghe was going to start scoring as soon as Manfredo got his hands away from his head and started ducking down) to a round early. And people claim that Calzaghe is protected, that stoppage has done nothing whatsoever but hurt him. Like I've said since the fight, the premature stoppage hurt Calzaghe way more than anyone else. People want ridiculous money to fight in the UK now, through fear of the same thing happened. Its a good excuse, cos they probably all know that Calzaghe is a superior boxer to them now anyway and this is a good way of getting out of it. This is backed up by the fact that none of these guys ever approach Calzaghe with an offer, they just either shout about him, reject his offers, or make an equally unrealistic counter-offer.

This is why I have much more respect for Ricky Hatton than Calzone... Hatton is at least showing that he is a world champion,as opposed to the good 'local' fighter Calzone. Folks,read my lips....Calzone is never gonna fight in the U.S.A...in fact,why should he?..when 35,000 fools will pay to see him fight a re-match with Manfredo?...or some other like opponent. A big fish in a little pond...and he is obviously happy with being that.So who are we to question someone's happiness? Good post. Answer me this. Why are people who pay £50 to see Calzaghe fight Manfredo (the likes of which he's only really fought once), Lacy or Bika non-stop until the match is finished fools and the people who pay $10,000 to see PBF run around the ring against DLH arent?

As far as I'm aware, he's never had a particularly fair or worthy offer made to go and fight in the US. I would consider $6m for Taylor in the US (as long as its not in Taylor's backyard) to be reasonably fair, but as neither Warren nor Calzaghe has responded to it yet...we cant say that he wont accept it.

Yeah he got straight back up and knocked Mitchell into next week. You say Calzaghe's opponents are B and C level fighters but doesn't the fact the Joe beat them all quite soundly save for one or two show that he as a fighter is a level or two above them ?
