What the F*** is up with that, how can someone be stopped in the 3rd round but fight three weeks later and score a ninth round KO.Testament to Joes lack of power and Manfredo's claim of early stoppage and of not being hurt.Got to be a bit embarrassing for Joe, kind of a slap in the face I'd say.
In Texas there is a minimum mandatory time you can't fight for if you are KO'd. I think it's 30 days, but I know one guy who was knocked out cold and was suspended 180 days and not allowed to fight again without an MRI and a doctor's approval.
Legally after a KO you arent allowed to fight for 45 days...Ahh the beauty of shit commisions and fighting overseas...
But Manfredo wasnt even hurt in the Calzaghe match...The KO was bound to happen but up until the stoppage he took no damage.
Still though after fighting a world class fighter and being questionably stopped in the 3rd it just shows how hurt he really was, mentally or physically.Calzaghe is like Floyd, the only thing he can hurt with his punches are his hands.I'm not pumping Manfredo he is what he is, I just find it bizzare after fighting a World Champion like Calzaghe and having to have the ref step in, to be able to fight again 3 weeks later no matter what class the opponent really lends creedence to an early stoppage and Calzaghe's questionable power. If I was Taylor or Kessler or B Hop I'd be chompin at the bit to get at him.
