In Texas you have to get your hands checked after wrapping by a Boxing Commision official. You then put your gloves on and get them checked too. Most of the officials write 'TEX' on the tape, youll notice it if you look closely if it's a fight in Texas.

Maybe so he wouldnt injure his hand during training. Who would take chances with a 20 mill payday a few days away?
