8th round TKO for Valero, his opponent has never been knocked down nor knocked out before,Valero has serious power and is a major threat to anyone in the division
he now moves to 22-0 (22KO's) i really wanna see Valero-Pacman
lolz! I saw the fight... Valero's performance isnt good and no way he could beat Pac, even Larios can beat him. :D
bro got link ?? just pm me tol...
thanks in advance...
we'll have to wait for weeks to get any footage of this fight. Nobuo nashiro also fought on the card and was apparently outclassed by alexander munoz, but i think he can bounce back, he's already won and lost a title even though he's only 9-1-0!
I read from another forum that he didn't topple Honmo. The fight was stopped on cuts and the fight was competitive till the stoppage on a cut.
QUOTE]
Nope just read a article -
Edwin Valero was extended beyond round two for only the third time in his 22-fight career as he successfully defended his WBA super-featherweight title with an eighth-round stoppage of Nobuhito Honmo at Tokyo's Ariake Colosseum.
The big-punching Venezuelan, 22-0 (22), moved closer to a projected clash with Manny Pacquiao when the referee stepped in to halt brave Honmo on his feet midway through the round. Honmo fell to 29-5-2 (5).
Valero would prolly KO Manny. Manny has no defense and an OK chin against non big hitters. I'm saying guys that don't have 1 punch KO power but can hurt you (Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Solis, Larios) He's been rocked at one point or another by all of these guys and none of them hit nearly as hard as Valero. Valero would prolly send Manny into Pacland. Manny is quick, so is Valero, Manny is southpaw, so is Valero, Manny hits hard, so does Valero, Manny has terrible defense, so does Valero. Who can you really give the advantages to in this one? Manny has more experience, yes, but the way he always gets hit in all his fights, it wouldn't mean anything once Valero lands 1 shot. This fight is too close to call but with Manny's weak defense, Valero's hunger, I can see him winning by stoppage.
Wow ur a Pacman fan but still told the truth, that was a great post
I think once he faces the elite of the SFW division he will get exposed. A fight with Marquez and Joan Guzman wouldn't be good as well, they would totally outbox him.
Mosqueira was arguably one of the elite. Also, I really don't know what all the fuss is about Guzman. Barrios gave him a decent fight. He's a lazy fighter, IMO, and you can't get lazy against Valero. He's also a lot smaller than Edwin.
WTF 8th ROUND !!! The V-Nom is already slipping, maybe he will be past his prime before he fights PAC ... lol
kidding aside, its one of the 3 fights that i want to see for pac, the other two being pac-jmm2 & pac-guzman ...
Really that would be cool to have Valero fight in the states. Has he gotten cleared to fight in the United States?
I dont know-which is why we will probably see him fight in Kentucky or some wierd spot where they dont follow rules and regs.
According to Dougie from Max Valero's promoter already turned down a possible matchup with Pac thinking it was a bit too early for the V-Nom as he is called to tangle withPac-Man.
Anyways I read his next fight according to his promoter will be held in the states and my guess would be in some place that normally does not get a chance to see many world class fighters...someone is going to get a nice surprise!

That's pretty impressive for Valero winning 22 fights and all by KO. I have seen him fight a couple of times on youtube and he has tremendous power, but like what was said before he throws wide looping punches and seems very wild and raw. He would make any fight exciting with his power and I hope the United States someday allows him to fight here. I think once he faces the elite of the SFW division he will get exposed. Pac and him would be a wild fight, but I would take Pac because of his straighter punches and quick hands. A fight with Marquez and Joan Guzman wouldn't be good as well, they would totally outbox him.

Yeah, he has too many first round knockouts, but i dare ask against who?.....i see another Frietas in the horizon, when he steps up his comp he will be exposed, Pacman will embarass him today....via a serious beatdown and a humbling knockout
It wasnt that his competition got better - he changed trainers to Oscar Suarez who tried to negate Freitas' biggest strength (his power) and tried to turn him into a boxer. He went 29-0 (29) and then switched to Suarez and won his next three on points. Coincidence? I doubt it.

but I do think this is the biggest fight (at least the most exciting fight) in the super featherweight division outside of Pac/Marquez
I agree,it would be a great fight, both these guys could end it with 1 punch,Pacmans got more skills, but he could easily walk on to a punch
You couldnt count Valero out against Pac. Pac's been stopped before, all be it a long time ago. Valero hits with incredible power and speed. And Mosquiera was a formidable champion. I would favour Valero but I'm aware I;m one of only a few, but I do think this is the biggest fight (at least the most exciting fight) in the super featherweight division outside of Pac/Marquez

But I wanna see him and Pac nonetheless.
pacman via tko in the middle rounds
he punches are way too wide. pacman would destroy his ass with his fast straight punches.
mosquero was able to knock valero down. imagine what pacman will do.
but this is boxing and one punch can always end a fight and valero has the power to do that. but i doubt he'll be able to catch pacman with his around the world punches
-EDIT-
HA! this thread is about valero's victory. i guess i just got caught up when you wrote "Valero-Pacman"
