Roger's assault today on Futch and Roach....

Hmmmm.....I just read this entire thread, which is rare for me. Looking at Scully's record, he was a good solid professional fighter, the kind who will screw a person up in the street. And much bigger than Roger. Don't see how he could lose that one. Might still beat him today, as they are both still working with fighters, and that is tough work. I've talked to Floyd, Sr. I know about all his personal problems, but he was a real nice, cool guy when I met him, which is when Corrales was here in El Paso to fight. I actually thought Floyd was the better of the 2 brothers. Yeah, Roach wasn't the world's best fighter, but he was a good solid professional who fought some good competition. Sometimes it's about things outside the ring that go a long way towards the kind of career a person has. We've got guys here who could have won titles if they had laid off the beer, fought in their true weight class, not taken a dive for a few bucks, worked with better trainers, etc. Any way, there is a world of difference between training a fighter and training to fight.....

Collins is a really strange one, because I actually think he beat Kalambay, it was a controversial split dec, yet he looked shit doing so! And Kalambay was bloody good! So it's just strange, with Collins.

Hard to make a case for Collins against Calzaghe. Collins just wasn't very good! He was awkward only because he was shit!

They were going to fight, until Collins pulled out with two weeks to go and retired! Collins clearly chickened out. (Eubank took the Calzaghe fight on 11 days notice) Calzaghe back then was a real banger, believe it or not, his thing was banging. Some of his KD's/KO's were sick with the overhand left swing.

I never thought of that fight...Collins vs. Calzaghe...interesting fight when both were at their best. Steve wasn't always pretty but he could get the job done

Even if Scully did lose every round against Nunn, it's not exactly any shame seeing as Nunn on his best or even near-best night beats any middleweight or super-middleweight in history with the exception of Nigel Benn (who takes him out).

I never EVER sold out Jose or any fighter..if u knew boxing u would understand our language and understand my meaning..I never ever got KO'd...stopped against Thadzi, never hurt, never down, never buzzed in the fight.....just weakened and at end of career...ref stopped it. No problem at the time. I was talking about Roger to show another side to his ATTACKS on Futch and Roach....the guy had a good career but u hear him now and u would think he was unbeaten undisputed champion and not a guy who ever quit on the stool as he once did..... if Oscar quit on the stool Roger would be all over that...lost every round against Nunn. Another UNCALLED FOR rant by Roger today. For the record...him talking about how great he was...SOME OF THE GREATEST KNOCKOUTS in history have come because of Roger Mayweather's chin. People say he was literally SNORING as he lay on the floor after getting drilled by Rocky Lockridge.
