After what happened last week with the terrible way the commission fumbled the event, and the "Friends and Family Night" attendance numbers, they are going to subject Tony Thompson and Elecier Castillo to same inevetibality, you know, the kind of incompetence that would make The Bad News Bears look like The Amazins'.
First off, the ringside doctor showed a general complacency to the health and safety of the fighters. Mike Anchondo, who was in considerable distress following his KO loss to Darling Jiminez, was left unattended on his stomach in a prone position for 45 seconds before medical attention decided to come along and earn their paychecks. Then the one guy suffered a cut and the doctor checked the cut from about 15 feet away. Can you say malpractice?
Then there was the issue of the timekeeper. The man was so out of it that he couldn't tell the difference between 2 minutes and three. Perhaps they should start drug testing the commission instead of the fighters.
So now, they're going to do this again less than a month later in the same city? Give me a break!
Start bringing fights to Philly. I was a t the Regional Gloden Gloves at the New Alhambra and the place was packed. They were turning people away. Yet there is never FNF at Philly.

I agree on all, they have a small job and they fuck it up.
its true. for the love of boxing, keep it out of DC.
there were like 20 people on friday, shit was sad.
My wife was even commenting about the attendance.
What was really sad though was watching Anchondo get punted out of the ring.
They did not promote Friday Night FIghts in DC. When boxing gets promoted in this City it always sells out also they didn't have any DC fighters with well known names fighting. Nobody gives a fuck about Joppy anymore. For the May 25 card they have 2 undefeated brothers (Anthony and Lamont Peterson) from DC fighting and it will be at the fairly new Convention Center so the turnout will be much different. Nobody gives a damn about the Amory.
I agree, there was no budget for the promotions and publicity of the show. DRL dropped the ball on many levels.
