with both fighters making about 30 mill with ppv sales, sponsership etc how likely is a rematch? what result, if any would prevent a rematch taking place. I was thinking about this as mayweater is talking retirement and dlh is getting on a bit and hasnt boxed for a while, would the golden boy team accept a rematch if oscar wins? would mayweather have the bottle to take one if he eeks out a close decision?
I pretty much agree with that, If oscar doesnt win on saturday he never will, but if theres enough money on the table does oscar take the rematch if he loses? this is pretty much the biggest money fight floyd can have. People wanna see him and hatton/Cotto or him vs Winky, but niether of those come close to DLH for a big money fight, and u know floyds all about that paper. Win or lose it might be floyd begging for the rematch not oscar
If Oscar knows he cant beat Floyd in a return match basd upon the first fight I dont think Oscar wants to give Floyd another 25-30 million.
I could be dead wrong and we are talking about a shitload of money but I doubt Oscar wants to be dominated twice in a row for any amount of money.
I dont think we will see a rematch regardless of the outcome-especially if Oscar wins.
Reason being is this Oscar chance, as an aging fighter out of his prime he is not going to improve upon his performance Saturday night and if he manages to eek out a victory then it can only get worse for the Golden Boy in a rematch.
And iof Oscar loses-he is not going to come up with some gameplan in a return bout that befuddles the prime Floyd....Oscar is REALLY in this for legacy and if he cant beat a fighter then I cant see him wanting to do it again.
Saturday night is essentially single elimination in my mind.

BTW-If Oscar wins you know who he is fighting dont you? Shane!
de la hoya mayweather rematch = more money
DHL doesnt not really need Mayweather if he won he will retire because he just want to end up with a good W in his record and not a bodyshot L
Hahahahaha why would fight Tony when he could fight Mosley??
Hes trying to prove hes the best ever, not trying to prove he can outbox one dimensional, overrated fighters.
i think margarito will kill mosley, ala forrest with that power on both hands
I think the rematch is inevitable.
Because I still think this fight is going to just cause more controversy. Nobody is getting knocked out and the scoring will be based on either Floyd's accurate punching or Oscar's effective aggression.

Most Mexican fans just want to see their own win at anything. They don't really give a shit about this sport or have any respect for non Mexican fighters (i.e. PFB, Pac) and those they deem not "Mexican" enough.
Margarito would whoop mosley enough said!
listen its clear you know nothing about boxing besides blindly nuthugging your favorite Mexican boxers, so im going to take it easy here and just laugh at you.
:lol1: :lol1: :lol1:
I cant believe we have to deal with idiots like this on a BOXING forum.
It sucks.
If Oscar wins there will not be a Rematch. That will be a way of Oscar telling Floyd you should have kept your mouth shut. Now you got to live with this loss in the biggest fight of your career.

IMO Margarito would get schooled by both Mosely and Mayweather. Like Eazy-E said Floyd wants to fight the best and probably make big paydays. Margarito is to predictable, and slow for both Floyd and Shane. Lets see how impressive Margarito is against Williams and maybe things will change. For now though Margarito would be an easy victory for both.
This would be awesome, but to a rematch to happen this fight must turn out to be a hell of a fight.
Omg just cant wait for this to happen, just watched 24/7 and i just cant wait, hahahahah
As it was referred to by BoxingScene's own; the falloff for Vargas vs. Mosley II was massive..
They lost 70,000 PPV's because the show was lacking the first time out.
A rematch will be based not only on the outcome, but the overall performance.
Either way they could still do it and make a killing though.. Of course.
Lets see floyd vd Margarito if FLOYD WINS.

Like you said the only way I see a rematch is if Oscar wins or Floyd eeks out a close decision. To be honest I wouldn't really want to see a rematch unless it was an epic fight. I would much rather see Floyd take on Sugar Shane especially if he won in impressive fashion.
Me too. I really hope Floyd fights Shane next if he doesn't retire.
