I'll be completely honest, I don't know much about the business side of boxing. But is there ever any chance of a larger sanctioning body taking over or buying out a smaller one? I think we can all agree that the fewer sanctioning bodies would be better for the sport(I'm talking mainly about the 4 major bodies)
Is there ever any chance of this happening? If so, which would be the first to go? Which would be most likely to take over another sanctioning body?
I'd like to see the WBO and the IBF combine into one, and the same with the WBA and WBC. Two sanctioning bodies and a unification fight every two years would be perfect.
i could see something like that happening, but there would probably have to be a lot of money involved.
But it would have to be when boxing is REALLY in trouble and something HAS to be done.
Thats why some people say boxing will only improve once its practically dead.
