Will we ever see fewer sanctioning bodies?

I'll be completely honest, I don't know much about the business side of boxing. But is there ever any chance of a larger sanctioning body taking over or buying out a smaller one? I think we can all agree that the fewer sanctioning bodies would be better for the sport(I'm talking mainly about the 4 major bodies) Is there ever any chance of this happening? If so, which would be the first to go? Which would be most likely to take over another sanctioning body?
