Ricardo Lois of boxingnews.com reported that Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, laughed out loud when HBO analyst Max Kellermen asked the Houston-based Diaz of a possible fight with Pacquiao.
"A promoter as shrewd as Arum would not put in Pacquiao to the likely destruction Diaz would bring," Lois wrote.
"Clearly, a boxer can lose on any given night, but I am sure Arum would rather have Manny lose to Humberto Soto (also a Top Rank fighter), where all the options and rematches go strictly through Top Rank. Dancing with Diaz would mean dancing with Don King," Lois further wrote.
wow, Bob Arum trying to duck Juan Diaz. I dont think its a big deal since Juan Should fight Casamayor 1st.
i want this fight. both these guys want 2 play toe 2 toe. diaz has just proved himself. this would be an explosive foty imo. pac will have no problem going up 135 naturally. he looks huge during last the morales fight so i guess this would be very much entertaining. lets get it on :boxing:
Screw Don King. Pac should not have to deal at all with King unless King asks for NO options on Pacquiao.
I wonder how likely that is.
Babybullfan...get serious.
Juan would be wayyy too much for Manny. Acelino is a big guy and he couldn't dent Diaz. Manny would have nothing. He'll be overwhelmed by the nonstop punching that Diaz is. You can say Manny is a nonstop puncher but he's more of an accurate power puncher who does best when he's having his way and opponent is moving backwards. When Diaz will always be in Manny's face nonstop punching, Manny will get tired quicker. I also don't think Manny will be effective at 135lbs because he's lost most of his speed at 130lbs and his power isn't 1 punch KO. Manny has to stay at 130lbs and if he moves up, I wouldn't go after Diaz. Also Diaz's will is impossible to break as was shown last night.
I kinda disagree with that. He look blazing fast against Morales at unofficial 145. As for Diaz vs. Pacquiao, it would be an interesting and most likely entertaining bout, but I don't know if Pacquiao can handle a guy who just as a beast as him. I also don't know how BabyBull can handle power from his opponents, but from the Freitas fight, looks like he can probably take Manny's power.
I think Pacquiao should fight Soto, another young, and hungry fighter with power in his fists.
The fight with Marquez will no doubt be entertaining but lets face it Marquez isnt the same fighter he was a few years back hes gotten old and lost more than a step.
Also in reply who should Manny go after. I would go after Marquez. A lot of you guys have him as the last savior to beating Manny after Morales and Barrera are done and Marquez was the only one that did make Manny look beatable. But that was 3 years ago... Manny has gotten so much better and wasn't prepared plan wise for Marquez. A rematch, he'll bomb Marquez outta there. Manny knows what to expect and when he prepares himself with fight plans, he looks unbeatable. Stuck with the plan against Barrera and dominated. Stuck with a plan against MOrales in rematch based on 1st fight and looked unbeatable. Wouldn't expect less against Marquez. Out of all the fights Manny could have at 130lbs, this is his best matchup.

Diaz is also another fighter thats been protected over the years. His people have been ducking Julio Diaz forever I think its time for them to let Juan face Julio.
I think Pacman is an excellent fighter but the lightweights are too big for him. Even a soft punching Diaz would swarm Pac. Freitas is a powerful puncher and I saw Diaz walk right through a lot of hard hits from him.
A fight right now with Manny wouldn't be good for Diaz. Diaz applies a lot of pressure, but Pacquiao has that power that could stop him with a single punch. Plus Manny would never give up and would love Diaz coming forward on him all the time. I would like to see Diaz become the undisputed champ at LW and then maybe face Pac.
