Thats a Polite way for me to say FUCK OFF AND DIE ALREADY...:fu2:
Save your crap for the MMA forums..
i think its important to note that mma is still young, in the years to come better and better athletes will enter and eventually you will have to be great to be televised. i love both sports, and im excited for the future of mma!
I'll swear that some of the TUF guys are brought in as fish for the 2-3 sharks they have on the show. Some of the guys are not too bad, but others are in way over their heads.
About the guys looking all tough and then sucking, that is not uncommon in our gym. Young, tattooed, snarling dudes come in and are bragging about their past 'training' and they just get embarrassed. They never come back either. The ones who come in looking to LEARN, rather than act all tough, are the ones who come back and do quite well.
Don't be too hard on the IFL, one of our guys fought in it :)
Yeah, I hope Dana changes that shark bait habit he has, especially since he struck the deal with HBO, and is planing to make spike the TUFfers fight channel.
Granted there are some pretty decent guys in the IFL (but most of them make me really shiver at the lack of technique, most noticeably in many fighters BJJ)

Boxing>MMA
....nuff said
Damn I need some Troll-Be-Gone for this bitch. The fucker wont catch a clue that people don't like him, cause he doesn't contribute anything to any conversation. This troll has the reasoning power of a broken condom. Leave.
On topic, some of the kicks I see in the IFL make me want to laugh at how weak /slow they are. I'm sure that if crocop saw those guys kick, he'd find them and castrate them out of frustration for their technique with his own kicks.

Yeah, I wish it was required that you had to be good at, at least one martial art(high school level wrestling doesn't count) to compete. Some of these TUFers/IFLers make me cringe at their punching/kicking/juijitsu. One retard in particular that I saw, had Juijitsu tatted on his back in big bold letters, ... and didn't know any Juijitsu. :wtf:
As MMA continues, there will be stricter penalties for sloppy fighting or blanketing a person and not doing anything. Personally, I try to refrain from most IFL/TUF fights unless the guys have proven that they are seasoned vets. in the sport.
Now back in the day royce gracie actually did his martial art.Thats why he kicked ass,he took what he was good at and exceled in it.
Thats nice to know, but majority of the time its grade school fighting.Even u can admit this.I hate when they name what martial art they know. They dont even do that shit in the ring, its straight up street fighting!Yeah, I wish it was required that you had to be good at, at least one martial art(high school level wrestling doesn't count) to compete. I know one guy who won't take you up on it......

Hahaha, yeah... Gunstar is a little pussy who contradicts himself whenever he opens his mouth. He's so oblivious to what he says. I hope he learns to stop leaving himself so open, or else he wont ever stop us -and every other poster on this forum- from having our way with him.
:bukkake:
Take a class at your local Brazilian Juijitsu place. Spare with one of them, and try to beat him. Then you will appreciate the ground game in MMA.
sidenote- I'm not taking about other dudes lying on their opponent and not trying to do anything, (aka. the human blanket technique) I'm talking about actual maneuvering to joint locks and subs. I appreciate good BJJ just as much as a Crocop kick to the body.

Most people who watch are not fighters. My point is that for someone watching purely for entertainment value, the ground game is boring. Yeah, it takes skill. Skill doesn't automatically translate into excitement...
Yeah, that seems to be the same thing with people not appreciating 12 rounds of boxing and saying it's boring cause people rarely ever get knocked out. There are a lot of people that don't appreciate the skill involved in these combat sports.
I've found the easiest way to educate ones about the skill that's involved in combat sports, is to actually school them in a one-on-one match. It's a humbling experience to get punched and pounded like you stole their money. Some people have to learn the hard way.
...That is, unless their friends around them are making fun of how little they know about the sport, then that usually makes them want to at least know the basics/or keep silent in conversations.

I don't even understand the popularity of MMA. The only exciting part is the stand up and people getting knocked out, which is just like boxing basically...

Its easy.. it doesnt require the fan to think or appreciate the ART.. its fast and furious
I once described it as movies.. MMA is like a die hard flic.. lots of action and explosions , an easy to follow plot and little in the way of character development.. Its entertaining.. but it isn't going to wun any awards except maybe in FX or marketing...
Boxing is Like Saving Private Ryan... There is war going on yes.. but there are sub plots and characters driving the story.. there is drama...
these types of movies win awards..
Its the difference beween art and and entertainment..

For sure. Whenever somebody put a MMA thread on NSB it's always how MMA is better or how it's going to bring boxing down. I don't care, no matter what I will still prefer boxing over MMA. I know here in the states UFC is getting pretty big and getting a lot of attention. Most of my friends are into it, but thats because they are former wrestlers and I guess thats an aspect they like.
But enough with this MMA vs Boxing stuff. Certain people like boxing, Certain people like MMA. Some even like both.
