Warren offers Kessler $5 million for September fight

Both guys are class acts, as far as boxers go.

Calzaghe rarely ever says anything bad about his opponents. He mostly only ever responds to what they say or what the critics say by claiming that he'll let his fighting do the talking.

If this is legit, then the fight needs to be made... Edit: This is according to Danish tabloid B.T. If true, that is definitely better than what warren is offering bad intentions. But coming from a tabloid?

Calzaghe saying that Kessler was another Lacy isn't a comment on Kessler so much as a statement to his critics.

Kessler has never said anything bad about Joe. I fact, he has never said anything bad about any fighter he was to face. He has only promised an (even bigger) asskicking if somebody pissed him off.

Has Kessler even said anything bad about Calzaghe? It's weird it seems Kessler's being a gentleman so far and really is taking Calzaghe as a serious opponent. Like, Calzaghe has called Kessler a lacy copy or something like that. All, I've heard Kessler say is that he wants Calzaghe. I haven't heard him say anything bad about Calzaghe... havent seen kessler yet, people are even saying hes better than calzaghe, not just that he may beat him. now calzaghe has been on some awful fights but hes still a very classy fighter with an incredible workrate matched by very very few fighters today. calzaghe gets panned for fighting on home turf all the time but kessler has done exactly the same so getting these two fighters together is going to be difficult as both will it on hometurf IMO whereas Froch and Calzaghe would be a much easier fight to make and domestically would be incredible. career wise calzaghe should go for kessler, then hopkins and finish up on a more mature taylor. i doubt he will fight any of them, and its a real shame. I HATE FRANK WARREN. ps:anyone who says calzaghe ducks fighters are idiots and have no understanding of the sport whatsoever.

To BT(danish tabloid) Frank Warrens says tueday; Mogens and I are talking to eachother right now. we are in serious negotiations but weve given our word that none of the details will be leaked to the press untill there is a deal. We will have just have to wait and see what happens. 5 million dollars matches the offer Mogens Palle sent to Frank Warren last week

If this is for real, Kessler should take it. Otherwise he would have some explaining to do.. I have yet to read it, but I expect Palle to tell if it’s for real, if it has allready been in the Danish media.

Taylor, Winki, Calzaghe, Kessler these guy should give us a combined 9-12 fights over the next 2-3 years yet we've only seen one match up which was a pretty damn good fight. Two american champs two euro champs, so much potential to turn all four of these guys into international stars. so fustrating to not see these fights and put up w/ calzaghe v. realworld contestants.

It's encouraging to see that there may be some actual negotiations taking place. Nothing will be there for Calzaghe in July save the mandatory, and if he takes that fight (against Inkin), alot of American fans will collectively shake their heads and turn their backs. He needs to take advantage of the HBO airtime and fight Kessler. If he wins, he has a strong argument as best 168 lber ever...
