Heavyweight Tommy Morrison is scheduled to fight the second bout of his improbable comeback on April 27, promoter Top Rank announced Thursday. Now, Morrison, 38, who lives in Phoenix, is scheduled to face Dale Ortiz (3-1, 2 KOs) of Topeka, Kan., in a four-round bout at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Houston. Top Rank matchmaker Bruce Trampler told ESPN.com that Morrison is scheduled to arrive in Texas on Monday to take the state's standard medical tests required for boxers to be licensed. That includes a blood test for HIV.
Thoughts?
I wish Morrison the best here and hope some of his upcoming bouts will start to be televised. I think it's way to early to say what will happen in his comeback but I think that if he can get some 'easy' wins under his belt, he could probably get a semi-big fight and make some money.
