Who do you like in a HW unification bout between these two sluggers, assuming they both win their championship fights? It's not a long shot. Just getting ahead of myself here, but I can't help it, it's an exciting matchup that can't disappoint!
They kick the shite out of each other for the full 12.
Brewster pulls away at the end when peter gets frustrated by being in the ring with a man that has a cinderblock for a head.
Ill pick lamon brewster in this fight. KO in the 6th.
the chances of brew being able to stop peter are pretty slim. peter's a tank. I think peter would take a decision
When exactly would you say Brewsters "prime" was?
The Klitschko - Krasniqi fights?
Where Klitschko fed him punches for 4 rounds before he got gassed and then got caught, and dropped..... Then he looked horrid and squeaked past Kali f'n Meehan..... Caught an old Golota cold and blew him out...... And was outboxed by Krasniqi for 7 rounds before getting lucky and landing a huge left hook to change the fight.....
Thats not much of a "prime".
yep,,,,the brewster that lost his last fight to serge was the same guy that fought entienne,,,shufford,,,wlad,,meehan...krasnique etc he can both beat and lose to just about anyone. thats what makes him fun to watch in a way
Sam Peter needed James Toney in order to get better. Peter is so much better now as a fighter, and is still improving. He knew he couldnt knock Toney out or go head hunting because Toney would make him look foolish. So he worked on his offense and ring generalship. Peter is the second best heavyweight unless Vitali is still as good as he was in 04.
well,,,,by your standards that would make peter #3 behind wlad and vitali. wlad has shown improvement over several fights,,beating top 10 opponents whereas peter showed improvement in just his last fight over a clearly past his prime toney that couldnt hurt peter. wlad has already beaten peter so to put peter above him is laughable

I'm a Peter fan, and I agree that he will come out and bully Maskaev, knocking him out most likely. He was impressive against Toney and is likely to impress here, but Vitali is a different kind of beast.
To be honest I hope Peter does beat Vitali because Peter can go on to fight Wladimir, which Vitali can't do. I just have trouble seeing how it goes down.
I agree totally; the best thing for the division is if Peter becomes the WBC champ goes on to beat Vitali which sets up a hw super-fight against Wlad...
This route provides for some very interesting and entertaining boxing matches. I just hope it plays out like that....
Kayjay, if Peter beats Maskaev convincingly as I think, then I don't think that Peter will be as big an underdog as you think, if he is the underdog at all. But, I think we're both jumping the gun here because Peter has got to get thru Maskaev first and Vitali will be judged on how good he looks in his tune-up later this year...

you're insane, either of the klits could kill peter if peter fought wlad again. Peter would be knocked the fuck out. Peter may have gotten better but he struggled with a fat out of shape toney in the first fight. Peter is a bum, and a loser. The reason the heavy weight divison sucks right now is because theres only two real good fighters ashame they're brothers. Peter won't be remembered in history for anything except being a loser. And Oleg's probably going to beat his ass. Olegs bigger, and he's in better shape then peters. Peters a big fucking joke, fighting toney who isn't even a natural heavyweight
Your kidding right?
lol, i love it when guys get really into it, when they REALLY hate a guy and go on these long hilarious rants.
Anyway, i think Peter Knocks out either Klitschko, i think Brewster-Peter would be an awsome fight while it lasts.
And i think Peter is the best heavyweight out there.
But i cant tell any of those things until Peter fights again, and lets not overlook PETER-MASKAEV cause thats a good matchup as well

It IS a long shot because 1) Brewster will be a heavy underdog angainst Wlad and 2) if Peter does beat Maskaev, which I expect, he will be a huge underdog against Vitali, even more than against Wlad because Vitali has a p4p chin and the possibility of a one-punch KO with him is out the window. So you need at least three fights to go a certain way, two of which are unlikely to do so, for this proposal to even be on the table
youre forgetting vitali has been inactive and injury ridden the last couple years. I think wlad would have a much easier time with peter than vitali. wlad has improved whereas vitali is now a question mark. I still think he'd get by peter but its a dangerous fight with all the inactivity and leg problems. I;d only make vitali a very slight favorite over peter
I tend to somewhat agree.......Wlad will without doubt in my mind beat Brewster in the rematch anyway......A Wlad/Peter fight is way out there anyway.....Peter will have to fight VK after he beats Maskaev so it should be very interesting in the next year or so to see what happens.....the HW division has just gotten exciting again.
Wlad-Peter are destined to fight a trilogy. They are the two best in their division, and the two youngest among the top of their division. It is indeed 'way out there' in the sense that it's not happening in the next 12 months or so, but it has to happen eventually.

i dont see no HW beating the peter that fought toney in the rematch

Why are we even having this discussion? These guys aren't going to meet up anytime soon if at all. I think Brewster will be all done after Klitchko and Peter has got to win the WBC title and then defend it against big brother Vitali before he gets any optional defenses.
i dont see no HW beating the peter that fought toney in the rematch
oh please. he looked better but a good part of it was toney was so slow and dreadful that night. peter is still and will always be very vulnerable to a good boxer with speed

I get the feeling Peter is totally being overhyped also. Apart from a decent performance against Toney who is no world beater at heavyweight what has he done against anyone noteable.
