How can anyone say norton has a better career, terrible tim is clearly better.
That was about the very best description of Witherspoon & his career as I've ever read.
Here's something else that I think could be said about Norton & Witherspoon...Norton's heart wasn't really in boxing but he had such a great work ethic that he OVER-achieved. Witherspoon's heart WAS in boxing but he lacked the work ethic to get the most from his God given talents. Norton didn't have the talent that Witherspoon had but he tried harder and got the most from what he had.
I agree. norton was always in such tremendous shape. he gave himself the best chance of winning every time he fought. the spoon on the other hand had a lot more natural talent but was just too lazy to dedicate himself to the sport like norton did and its a real shame becuase he could have been something special
witherspoon also beat prime holmes but was robbed. he was a very underrated and under achieving fighter. he had the talent to be a great fighter but never quite made it there

lol 60's Ali would have beat Norton by UD easy .
But it is true by the time they did fight Ali's style did not work as well vs a good jabber with power.
Styles make fights...Norton was a horrible matchup for Ali, and consequently beat him twice. but remember he also put a battering on Quarry, along with other quality opponents.
Witherspoon is one of those guys that beat a ton of good fighters numerous times, but gets little respect because he never beat a huge name. Kind of sad

Who's comparing the two? Besides "Terrible" never beat a great like Norton did in Ali.
