According to Sulaiman and some Mexican media outlets it had awesome rating. That's impressive seeing how the main event for that card was Mijares versus Arce and the Pacquiao fight was not televised. But it was on free network tv, on TV Azteca so they hope this helps woth advertisers for future boxing shows. It sucks that the American boxing public isn't as interested and can't create at least these kinds of ratings for a good fight on network television. I bet the Tarver fight wouldn't have attracted 1/10th that amount of viewers, it sucks but at least the sport is alive and well in other countries. Also this means that Mijares' next fight could probaly generate some pretty good revenue if he gets a quality opponent like Martin Castillo, it can and should be done.

im from mexico and they did televise the pacquiao fight, but really the main attraction was el travieso
but for me, sosa stole the show
i feel the same way, I also think that JCC's performance was good. But yeah, Sosa showed some heart and determination to pull that one out.
Pacquiao Solis fight was shown on TVAzteca and was the main event.

They may have shown it delayed with Arce's fight as the main event, but htat article doesn't mae it clear and the article I read said they hadn't shown it.
your arguments are null and void because Manny Pacquiao can beat them up, hahahaha. No, i think you're right on and that's one of the things that stood out to me especially compared to boxing's relationship with network TV in America but some people on here can't see the big picture because their favorite fighter's balls are currently tea-bagging them.
And Mexicans aren't ashamed of Solis, they just don't know who the fuck he is and Arce and JCC jr were the big draws in for that card for most Mexicans, I'm sure they would have wanted to see Pacquiao but he isn't quite as big.
And about manny getting 40 millioin viewers fighting a street vendor, good for him and the boxing community, is if that's supposed to be an argument against me? It's basically the same thing I was talking about so relax.
well, Mexico had produced more great boxers than Philippines ever had, not surprising, I guess they are used to that.
it is a big deal for boxing as a whole, and it's great news that plenty of countries abroad are keeping the sport thriving and pumped full with money. it's always a breath of fresh air to hear that millions of people still tune in on free television to watch their hometown hero slug it out - especially for guys like me, cus over here in the states it doesn't happen much at all anymore.

40 million viewers in mexico? Pac can generate same numbers if not more fighting a fishball vendor here in the Phils.... not a big deal really...

you were drawn in by the name Pacquiao, but then surprised to find you couldn't praise him on this thread bc it wasn't about him, sorry for the deception.
