Kessler is a good, not great fighter. I didn't see the big deal about him though when he had a guy right in front of him for 12 rounds and failed to put him away. Like Calzaghe - Lacy? I'd like to see how Froch would do against Andrade (or Lacy for that matter). Kessler has only lost a few rounds in his entire career. He's good at dominating everybody with his jab, and keeping distance with excellent speed and movement. Some see this as a sign of him sucking at everything else; I see it as a sign of intelligence, since I’ve seen plenty of other qualities when called upon, or when opportunity was there. Kessler usually take 1-2 rounds to find his comfort zone, and what works and what doesn't. And you don’t see him taking any chances from then on. Calzaghe would have a hard time with him, Lacy and Manfredo wasn’t moving anywhere, or countering anything.

No he isn't, Calzaghe is the man at 168, regard;ess of whether or not you think Kessler can beat him. In any case the Vikings were very good at... farming. That's right, they were primarily farmers.

Kessler is a very robotic fighter. Jab, jab, jab, telegraphed right. Combined with his strength and reflexes it works well for him though. He isn't in the top 10 pound for pound, maybe he is top 25? Yes, I would have to agree he's robotic - even in transition. But he throws quite nice.. Good fastball.

Mikkel Kessler= An odd boxer which the majority of his punches are just jabs. I think I've seen him knock out dudes with only his jabs. Which I guess it means he is good with jabs. Joe Calzaghe= Good Chin, Non-stop Punching and not just a jabber, Great stamina. Flaws of both of them. Flaws: Calzaghe: When joe throws alot, he throws most of his punchers wide, which is bad when you're fighting a guy like Kessler who mostly just uses his jabs and not really anything else. Kessler has powerful jabs, this can cause a ko if joe wants to throw too many wide opens punches and leave his chin exposed to Kesslers hard ass jabs. Kessler: Predictable on what he's going to throw. Jabs are is his best weapons, it's his greatest flaw and his greatest pro... Kind of like how Calzaghe's pro is throwing non-stop but his flaw is that he leaves his chin exposed for a jabber such as kessler. Things joe would have to do to win this fight. Duck and weave and jab back occasionally, and he can land a nice upper cut if joe can dodge and weave back and fourth and also ko the younger supposenly better opponent. Some of calzaghes fights I've seen he is smart with the way he moves but so is kessler. But I've never seen kessler bend his knees like calzaghe has done in the past and move while he can dodge jabs this way. He can dodge and land a hook to kesslers body and land a nice uppercut if he times it right. All in all, I think Calzaghes the funner fighter to watch in fights. And I think Kesslers a boring fighting because he just uses jabs to win fights. But i have to say this would be one of joes toughest fights, and probably hardest fights he'd ever have to fight. Styles make fights, and this fights leaning towards Kesslers impressive jabs. I want someone here who knows alot about calzaghe like a fan to dispute that these jabs would bother joe. I don't know any other fighter who has used as many jabs as kessler would use in this fight against calzaghe. And Kessler may try to change his style up for this fight to even trick calzaghe, like instead of just throwing abounch of jabs like he does in most of his fights that he wins. He might try to actually switch it up every so often and try to use hooks and uppercuts. But I doubt it, I think Kessler is one dimensional and the best asset he has is his jabs, but it would be like krptonite to superman what kessler is to calzaghe. I'm sorry if I offended any of calzaghes fans, he's my favorite boxer but I've been watching both of these fighters for quite some time studying how they box. Calzaghe is the better boxer in my opinion, but styles make fights. kessler doen't just throw the jab, it's usually jab - straight right, although i think he throws two or three jabs first before the right. calz is an inside fighter, kessler is an outside fighter, whoever makes the other one fight their style wins the fight

Kessler would give Calzaghe the fight of his life and vise versa. This would be a close fight. Kessler I think would have a good game plan against Calzaghe and utilize his jab well. On ESPN Friday Night Fights before the Calzaghe/Manfredo fight Kessler said Manfredo better not get up against the ropes for to long or it would be all over. Well thats what happened. I know it's easier said then done and there's a lot more to worry about when fighting Calzaghe, but im sure he's been thinking about this fight for a while. It's really the only fight to make in the SMW division.

Kesslers not a full blooded viking or so I've heard rumors he also has part british in him from his moms side... Don't know if thats true or not. Remember how the vikings came to the British Isles to rape and pillage for centuries? All you Brits have viking blood in you :D

Do you even watch any of calzaghes fights? He bruises and makes the other fight bleed. How can slaps do that? He must be slapping them hard as shit to bruise the other fighter and make them bleed. Peter Manfredo barely got hit and if you have a high quality def version of the interview after the fight, you can see he has bruises all over his face. Yeah, calzaghe slaps he slaps so hard that boxers skin start to welt over it You're right, and I actually quite like Calzaghe, it's just that being Danish and all i'm a huge Kessler fan. Hopefully we'll see them fight someday soon, before Joe is over the top!
