After seeing Arce get dominated the way he did vs. Mijares, Im wondering if Arce vs. Darchinyan would still hold the same hype and flair it promised before.
Arce is a true warrior, cant take that away from him, but I have no idea what happened to him and his gameplan tonite vs. Mijares. Had he stepped in the ring like that against VIC Darchinyan, he may have left the way poor Burgos did. :boxing:
Do you still wanna see Arce vs. Darchinyan??
it is in the works for a possible September date...

ya he deserves a rematch cuz the fight was so damn close. :Flush: Arce got flushed, I dont see any reason for a rematch.
They both looked like they wanted to fight in the interview on sunday, I think it might happen if Arce can think of another way to fight Mijares, Otherwise I dont know what else is next for him.
This just came out today on FightNews...
Darchinyan rips Arce!
Tuesday, April 17 2007
"I knew he was a fraud from day one which is why I wanted to be the one to beat him, to expose him to the world as a farce of a fighter.....he's a fraud and a complete disappointment to the Mexican boxing fans," says an embittered IBF flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan (28-0, 22 KOs) in regard to Jorge Arce's lopsided unanimous decision loss to WBC super flyweight champion Cristian Mijares. The unbeaten Darchinyan had hoped to land a big money showdown against the popular Arce, who has also gained fame from starring on a reality TV series in Mexico. Meanwhile, Darchinyan's promoter Gary Shaw lashed out at Arce's promotional company Top Rank. "Bob claims Vic can't put asses in one hundred seats. That may be true, but I guarantee you that Vic can win more rounds against any opponent "Farce" has ever lost to. And by the way, Vic has lost to no one."
After that devastation against mijares, this possible great fight has lost some luster. Maybe those wars that jorge took corageously has finally taken it's toll on him or mijares simply has his number. It was a one sided beating such that mijares-darchiryan becomes more salivating than arce-darch..
Arce just said He wants a rematch on his last interview on sunday.

ya arce is good but his arms were tense he could barely move them...his last fight the guy didnt wanna fight.
I am just mad Arce was dodging Darch...I used to be a fan of arce...but this dude is a fool! he and arum lost a huge payday! would of been one of the most exciting lighterweight fights ever!
I think arce purposely lost this fight he wasnt punching fast he was probally thinking of VIC he knew if he won he would have to face him hahahha.
They definitely lost a lot of money. There was a lot of people hoping this fight would happen. It still could, but it wouldn't have that same kind of feel. Both men coming in on hot streaks, Vic undefeated, Arce on a 28 fight win streak. Both men brawlers known for exciting styles. It would have been great. I hope they still fight just for the excitement factor.
Sorry but Arce was always FARCE a fake...
Vic would of murdered him he is wide open and from his last fight with mijares he was exposed his face is open.
vic darch will murder him if this fight goes on it would be a sad day because a man might die in that ring they might charge vic with murder.
I dont see anyone at 115 who will hit harder then vic.
If Arce fought the way he fought against Mijares, then ya, VIC would give him a good beating... the thing is, Arce isnt as bad as he looked that nite against Mijares.
Mijares had the fight of his life, while Arce just fought for his life.

Yeah and Vic Darchinyan is probably more open than Arce. Plus Darchinyan throws wide sloppy punches which is completely different from the accurate straight and compact punches of Mijares.
I'm convinced Darchinyan would of met the same fate that night against Mijares.
September this year??
was it a bit too fast for Vic to move up in Superflyweight? or are they fighting in the Flyweight division?
Hell I wanna see them both, bell-to-bell brawlers, would be very exciting to see huge knockouts from these little men.
I thought vic wants some more time to move up and then maybe as he said before move up in the SuperFeatherweight Division and challenge Pac.
no, VIC has already officially moved up to 115 Super Flyweight...
They are already working on a June date vs. the WBO Super Fly champ.

Just thought of a good way to make the possibility of an Arce - Darchinyan bout interesting.
Think Vic set to challenge Fernando Montiel, so Arce fights Martin Castillo on the same card, & the winners fight the winner.
Be a good promotion I think.
True. Start bidding.

Mijares drew with a guy not too long ago - good fighter named Luis Maldonado, 33-0.
Maldonado was destroyed in 8 rounds by Darchynan in his next fight.
To me that puts Vic as the major favourite inspite of Miljares performance over Arce, & puts a Darchynan VS Arce bout way down the list of bouts I want to see Vic in
(although think that Darchynan is a better style matchup than Mijares for Arce).
Would much rather see Vic against the winner of WBA champ Nobuo Nashiro & Alexander Munoz, Martin Castillo, Dimitri Kirilov, as well as Mijares, than Arce at this point.
Arce has trouble with Southpaws, probably why he ducked Vic for so long. But the fight has a better chance of happening now. Arce needs a big win to get back to the top and maybe Bob might try and make the Vic fight happen. Morales -Pac II still happened after Erik lost.
I dont think he is ducking vic. Ill admit he isnt exactly begging to fight him but he aint ducking him

Vic and Arce would still be a great fight due to the excitement factor. The loss took some out of the matchup, but I would still like to see it. It would be a great brawl and one we would remember for a long time.
I would still pay to see Arce - Vic. However, I'd tell Vic to stay away from Mijares or his 0 is going to go, if you know what I mean. Mijares will totally exploit Vic's weak defense just as he did Arce. Both Arce and Vic's offense is their defense and that's why their fight would be great but, against Mijares, they would lose 10 out of 10 fights.
