If not, how you think he's gonna KO Floyd? The minute Floyd gets tagged by direct power shot from Oscar, assuming he doesn't go down or get instantly KOed, he's gonna be on his bike all night. Floyd is smart, he's not gonna trade if he feels he's outgunned in the power department and is getting rocked and not rocking back. Actually these are my exact feelings on how this fight will play out. Oscar will land something big that'll scare Floyd for the rest of the fight and it'll turn into a snooze fest. Let's just hope Roach taught Oscar alittle something on how to cut off the ring to catch him. :boxing:
yeah

i totally agree with u, becuz thats exactly is wats gonna happen and everyone else knows it. He gonna run all night regards though, its gonna be like oscar facin trinidad all over, alot of runnin goin be goin on.:ugh:
But you Floyd fans need to understand that this is by far Floyd's toughest fight to date, and it's not even close to Oscar's toughest. Taking on Hopkins was a bigger challenge. Whitaker was as much of a challenge and Tito in his prime at 147 was just as tough. We know about Oscar, we don't yet know about Floyd because he's not fought any elite fighters (don't talk about Corrales, that's not elite).
At that time, yes Corrales was one of the elites. He was 33-0, 29 KOs, and actually going into the fight Floyd was the sleight underdog (the only time as well). The Corrales fight was a very dangerous fight for Floyd to take at the time, and he beat the living shit out of him.
Why are you judging the current, shot to pieces Corrales of today, to the Corrales of 1999-mid 2005. I still say to this date that the first Castillo fight ruined him as a fighter, and it was his last fight as a truly elite fighter. At least he went out with a win in my book. Because all of his fights now? Mean absolutely shit IMO. He's shot, he's done...
What about Hernandez? Yes the 130lb champ Hernandez, not the overblown up one that Oscar beat.
Castillo, yes a prime Castillo is an elite fighter. It was Floyd's first fight at 135, without any tuneups or anything, and he fought a prime Castillo who had just beat the snot out of Stevie Johnston. Castillo was tremendously strong, very crisp, fast, hard punches on the inside. Probably the best man in boxing at cutting off the ring, and a vicious body puncher. You do the math.
How can you say Castillo wasn't an elite fighter?
Or a prime Jesus Chavez? Come on.
Or the former 3 time world champion, and undisputed Welter Weight champion of the world in Zab Judah, at his very, very best?
Give me a break...

u know Kayjay I dont think it will be. Oscar aint the Oscar that fought Tito no more. He ain't the Oscar that fought Mosley right now. And Hopkins is not a bigger challenge either. Hopkins defeated Oscar because he was bigger and they are equal in skill. The good big man will always beat the good lil man right? In this case, Floyd's skill are far surpass oscar and Hopkins and that says a lot I know, but it's true. Corrales might not be elite now, he is on the downside of his career, but at the time he was elite. Floyd contributed to his undoing, but Corrales was Koing everyone before his 1st loss to Floyd, that's pretty elite. Hell if Corrales wasn't elite at the time, who was? Hell where were all these elite fighters when Floyd was making his claim for P4p crown?
Floyd fought Castillo, and he was certainly elite. I'll give that to Floyd. Overall, Oscar's resume is still better. And I agree Hopkins is a bigger challenge than Floyd. Oscar is going to make Floyd look very small in this fight as well. It will be interesting to see the size difference.

I think zab can compete with floyd...
thats a good fight, iont care what nobody say
yeah it was a good fight, I watch that fight often. I think my favorite fights of his is Ndou fight and Corley though.
Graet Post!!!!! I wish more Floyd fans had the ability to be objective and see things for what they are and realize that he like every fighter has weaknesses and can be defeated. We all realize that he has great talent and is very good but DAMNIT he's human and can be defeated just like everyone else. Props to you, I can respect a Floyd fan that is able to be objective and not dilusional and misguided. You are completely right about these clowns with Floyd in there sig and take what they say as unbiased or completely objective. GREAT POST!!!!!!!!!!
Us Floyd fans think he can be defeated but we don't think anyone currently at 154 and down can beat him. That is what you can't understand. Yeah he has weaknesses but no current fighters have the strength to overcome those weaknesses so therefore he has none. Oscar has the power but he doesn't have the speed or the lateral movement to apply it. Zab Judah had the speed and pop but he was unfocused. Baldomir had the toughness and that it. There are no other complete fighters right now that can compete with him, why can't u admit that?
decent post, but if de la hoya looks for the ko, he'll be the one tasting the canvas imo. floyd will tag the shit out of him. floyd's timing and precision is impecable, and his patience keeps him calm in the ring, and that's how he executes a near perfect gameplan. this will win floyd the fight easily. i think floyd wants oscar to try to knock him out, that way, it'll be a field-day for floyd to counter oscar and toy with him all night.
man, you're talking as if Oscars an amateur. Oscar is a very smart fighter & I don't think he's coming in ther with the intentions off soley knocking him out.
DLH will win this on pressure & counter punching.
DLH by decision & I can even see a late KO. (It's not out of the question)
oscar's left hook is deadly... vargas and mayorga found that out the hard way... if oscar can catch floyd with one left hook the fight is over, because oscar is as good of a finisher as there is in the sport.
Even Pernell on crack was a better boxer than Floyd. Pernell beat the all time greats and made some of them look silly. No one was more awkward than Whitaker. Floyd is very good but I would not even say he is as good as Whitaker was when Oscar fought him.
In any case, their styles are different. Whitaker fought a lot lower than Floyd. Floyd has his own style. It is more reminiscent of James Toney than Whitaker.
its called boxing
jabing while moving
ali did it alot watch some vids
who said he has to beat oscar up
to win the fight? floyd took shots from
castillo when he was in the pocket and
got back in. he got hurt with chop chop
but that didnt stop him from getting back in there
and letting his hands go.
im pretty sure floyd is sparring with guys
bigger and stronger than oscar. floyd been in the game
for a long time im pretty sure hes been hit.
with his style he had to go through a trail n error
hes been tagged in process of trying to master
his craft.
and anyone can be knocked out with one punch.
A lot of boxers are bigger and stronger than Oscar buth nobody that he is sparring can match Oscar skill or technical ability.
that dont mean he cant get beat up, and then ppl say mayweather was on his bike....
how can u beat someone up.... running? lol

I think this fights going to be superb. It may go technical, be a bit dry for spells but I have never minded that.
But GODDAMN!!! I like Floyd, really like DeLaHoya but cannot stand some of these retarded PBF fans. Floyd is a wonderful boxer but you look retarded when you start implying that he has carried immense punching power to the higher weights. Enjoy him for what he is, not what you fantacise him to be. Seriously, go write some bi-curious fan fiction about yourselves and him or something and get it out of your systems.
I realized recently that I was starting to go off Floyd but only because his fans were ludicrously misguided.
Floyd is great.
People with Floyd in their sigs should be on the short bus.

that is true.
alot of ppl are also forgetting oscar is facing the best boxer he has ever faced, and probably ever will lol
(he fought some good dudes, but they were past they prime)
bottom line is, he couldnt beat mosley.. and had trouble with pernell (judges gave it to him) what really makes u think he can take floyd... is it all just because of size? u know in boxing that dont mean shit
I think his fight with Hopkins is tougher than the fight with Floyd
Floyd is gonna stop Oscar.......The World Awaits....Oscar will come forward until he realises that he is getting tagged each & every time.By 12 the towel will be in
so what does that mean? he took it well, and bounced back. we all saw oscar go down against bhop from a body shot. so what? just because corley hit floyd means nothing about his chin being weak. floyd has a great chin, and so does oscar. if oscar looks for the ko, he'll lose really early, if he doesn't he'll still lose, but maybe he last into in the later rounds.
what!
Are you seriously suggesting that Floyd could end this early?? I don't know what to say to that preposterous statement.

I think the question isn't is Oscar a 1 punch KO guy... I think the question should be.. When Floyd gets KO'd with one punch.. Will he commit suicide after, and will his cult like fans follow? After all I hear they believe Floyd is their lord and savior!
If I was going to say it a different way; Floyd has to fight a nearly perfect fight because De a Hoya will be looking for the kill shot.
But Mayweather is one of the rare fighters that can execute a perfect fight.
It also comes down to the fact that Oscar is good - but he's not superman.
Floyd Mayweather is a little closer to that.
Of course DLH is a highly skilled guy with extra sensory awareness.. He could land that killer punch. Oscar is a monster in the ring.. He's evil.
