i think that papa did very good for his first time with the BAD crew... I really enjoyed the telecast as a whole, the barrera-marquez fight was very good for the first fight and then the kessler fight was very enjoyable as well
good voice, but knows shit about boxing.
I hope they get a replacement for him on ESPN soon, and he certainly doesnt deserve a spot on HBO
I disagree. He's not a bad commentator and has learned quite a good deal working with Teddy Atlas.
Too bad they cant get Joe Tessitore from ESPN, i like that dude.

Papa seemed to blend pretty well with the "Boxing After Dark" commentary crew. He seemed out of place to start but once the fight started he was all over it, setting Kellerman and Steward up for some pretty good follow-ups. I'd still rather have Sean O'Grady but Papa seemed to fit well.
He'll grow on me, just as Kellerman did during his initiation phase.
Pappas was decent. I didn't think he was leaps and bounds above Charles despite what anyone says. He was more into the action, had a better idea what was going on, but I wouldn't get on my knees just yet. I'll wait and see how he does in the future. He spent a lot of time setting up Steward and Kellerman. I'd give him a solid 'B'. Not bad by any means- but he didn't add too much to the action for me. Not like Lampley can; despite any bias he shows.
i just watched rounds 5 and 6 of the fight, and i thought papa did great. he fit in well.
He set manny and max up for some good comments.
I thought manny was lovin him the whole night...
I don't know what Square is talking about. Papa was competent, at the LEAST. He gave a much better account of the action than Fran did. There were none of those akward silences during broadcasting like there was before.
Manny seemed to like Bob, too.

he tried to introduce kellerman, then kellerman 'welcomed' him in a sense like, 'Hey newb, you're the newb, dont make me look like the newb
was there a good connection between everyone, or does PAPA seem out of place?
