I have read a few boxing books like the Jesus Chavez story, Teddy Atlas book, Jack Johnson's book, few Ali books and also a Sugar Ray Robinson book. I want to read more and I just wanted your guys opinion on some good boxing books that are out there.

I am actually getting even more motivated to finish the book now because in thelast few days I have gotten several emails requesting info on it from good media sources including NBC so it may be soon that you ALL get toread it :)
Most boxers can't write books themselves. Writing a book is not easy, and reading one by someone who can't write is terrible. I prefer to see 'as told to' on the title because then I know someone half competent did the work.
Iceman is an exception, I'm not saying that to kiss his ass but you can quickly see from reading this forum that he is a smart guy. Can you imagine your favorite fighters writing a book? Eubank sure, but the rest of them?
Thank you, my man. And on that note...what I think is terrible is when you read a book "BY" a certain person and reading it you KNOW THEY DIDN'T WRITE IT.

only way id ever read one is if the fighter himself wrote it. but its always some one elses stories, like jose torres lying his ass off about tyson throughout his book.

CHIN CHECKER, then you need to read my book when its done because I tell it all about boxing, about what it's like inside the ring, what guys like so called boxing experts could never tell you other than from what they heard from a fighter thats been through it. REAL stuff
Is the Rocky book really good? Its the only boxing book I can find at my local book stores other than the Atlas book, which I have read.
You can find the Rocky book in your bookstore? It went out of print in '77.
And yes, it's absolutely brilliant.
Cinderella Man by Jeremy Schaap
Rocky Marciano: Biography of a first son by Everret M Skehan
Pound for Pound by Herb Boyd
Shadow Box by George Plimpton
Muhammad Ali: His Life and Times by Thomas Hauser
Dark Trade by Donald Mcrae
A Flmae of Pure Fire by Roger Khan

Here is a book I DO NOT recommend.
"The Sweet Science Goes Sour"
It's like hearing from someone who just watched fight videos.
...Someone who knows very little about the sport on when Tyson bit Holyfield, or when Duran quit against Leonard.. Utterly pointless. :purity:
No need for anyone here to lookf for this. The whole thing was posted on BS at various points in the past year.
LOL, didn't realise that. Still, it's worth a read IMO.
Muhammad Ali: His Life and Times by Thomas Hauser
The Jeff Fenech Bio
The Long Round: the triumphs and tragedies of the men who fought Mike
Tyson
a boxing encyclopedia from 1989
and a few other things I picked up at garage sales

I know of pretty much all the details of Eubanks life down to his circumsizion and eating habits. Thanks Juy. When I am having sex I often think of what Chris has had for dinner to prolong cumming. That was a suggestion a poster made once.
WAR BABY! By Kevin Mitchell - This book is about Gerald McClellan and Nigel Benn. Excellent.
The Dark Trade. By Donald Mcrae.
Chris Eubank autobiography.
Rope Burns - Can't recall who wrote this book but it was a good read.
The Shadows of Boxing - Geoffrey Beattie
There's plenty more, but they should keep you busy.
