He obviously can, this is boxing, but what are the chances of him even earning a belt against one of the 4 heavyweights?
I have faith in him and believe he stands a decent chance, his best shot would be against Maskaev in my opinion. Valuev or even Briggs could perhaps be all pretty good shots for the Real Deal.
lol,,,wtf? how do you figure that? he barely got past fres oquendo who was knocked out in his last big fight to light hitting john ruiz and many people felt oquendo won that fight. the other 2 guys jeremy bates and maddalone have absolutely no ability and get spanked anytime they fight a semi live body. thanks for the comedy though
How does he figure that? Look at George Foreman's fight with Axel Schulz. Foreman was battered, and got the decision even though Schulz truly won. As for Holyfield/Oquendo, the fight was much closer on my scorecards than Foreman/Schulz. In fact, I had Evander winning it. Foreman didn't really beat any top guys in his comeback. Holyfield has. I count Holyfield's comeback as starting after the first Moorer fight.
Maskaev is his only chance but he will likely get beat by Vitali, the winner of that fight must fight Peter so even if the winner wanted to give him a shot it would be about March 2008 and thats still unlikely that they would choose to fight him anyway, he will be nearly 45 by then.
I wouldnt fancy him against Vitali or Peter. He may beat Igbrimov if he beats Briggs but again that wouldnt happen until the end of the year or next year if at all, and anyway the WBO counts nothing towards the Udisputed title which is his goal so why bother. Valuev and Wlad would beat him.
Foreman and Holyfield have nothing in common. There is no similarity to their comebacks. Holyfield is just a smaller than average heavyweight in a division that everyone perceives as weak. When Evander gets knocked the fuck out by someone in the top ten don't say some of us didn't warn you. He has yet to prove this comeback of his is worth shit.

The bottom line is that the heavyweight division is so poor that people really want to see Evander do well, but in all honesty i think he should have called it a day years ago.
he looks just as, if not more impressive than foreman did in his comeback years.

Foreman ALWAYS had incredible power and the ability to pick his punches incredibly to hit the knock out blow against anyone who let their guard down. That is the only real reason he was able to win a title.
Holyfield doesnt have that ability.
In my opinion, Holyfied is too slow and cumbersome to beat any of the current champions..
Valuev would batter him into defeat, like Bowe did, but worse. Holyfield is too small to do any damage to the champions....Maskaev is his best chance, but he would still get out lasted. I dont see him winning any...
He should retire gracefully before he ends up like a vegetable....
Plus he can`t juice himself up any more...i always wondered how a man who did no roadwork could box for 12 rounds...i dont think he can go the distance with anyone these days.
lol,,,I cant believe all this talk of holyfield being a champ again. hello? beating a jeremy bates and maddalone proves nothing. he's still yet to show me that he can beat let alone compete anymore with a top 10 heavyweight. you guys are setting yourself up for a big disappointment

it does remind me of foremans comeback, and i see holyfield beating briggs in a decision or tko.

Let me throw this in the conversation. Brigg has a mandatory defense against a game Sultan Ibragimov; so we're all assuming that Briggs will win. Well what is Sultan wins? Does Holyfield beat Ibragimov?
i think he beats maskaev as well. Thats a GREAT matchup as well.
It would be GREAT for boxing if holyfield can do it again.
Just as popular as when Foreman got the heavyweight title back, if not more so
i do think holyfield can pull it off i think holyfields best chance is against valuev holyfield is faster and would be able to take valuevs shots so i could see holyfield out pointing him
lol,,,,he was worn out and stopped by toney. you dont think valuevs size and strength would wear holy out? holyfield cant fight 10-12 rounds anymore at a sustained pace in which his opponent is being agressive. vaulev stops him
