And it's funny how you can call a fighter a bum and yet never even dare step into a ring to face one. Maybe next time you'll think before you speak.
God, I thought I was the only one who thought this way.
Unfortunetly Boxingscene has it's fair share of internet tough guys and posters who call world-class fighters "bums" while never having been in the ring a day in their lives.
dont know if this is hbo but Ron Lyle vs Foreman was pretty legendary
Shavers - Lyle
Ali - Foreman
Kostya Tszyu - Zab Judah only because it was such a good day for me, but im guessing its a showtime fight
Benn - McClellan
whats legendary about 2 bums beating the shit out of each other
you never even saw the fights therefore you have no idea what you're talking about. so just shut up. you have no place in this conversation.
MAB/Morales has to be done because not only were two of the fights very entertaining, but they were significant as well. Both fighters are hall of famers and legands in Mexico.
People call Micky Ward a bum yet he had THREE STRAIGHT Ring Magazine Fight of the Year awards (Burton, Gatti, Gatti): 2001, 2002, and 2003. Gatti has been on the list four times (Ruelas, Robinson, Ward twice).
Gatti-Ward Trilogy. MAB-Morales Trilogy. Castillo-Corrales one. So many more....
Yes, these three plus:
Ayala - Tapia I
Duran - Barkley
Alexis Arguello - Alfredo Escalera
Trinidad - Hopkins
Holyfield - Tyson series
For those wondering, here are the one's they've done:
The Tale of Leonard-Hearns
The Tale of Holmes-Cooney
The Tale of Pryor-Arguello
The Tale of Hagler-Hearns
The Tale of Hagler-Leonard
The Tale of Tyson-Douglas
The Tale of Chavez-Taylor
The Tale of Holyfield-Bowe
The Tale of Foreman-Moorer
The Tale of Bowe-Golota
The Tale of De la Hoya-Trinidad
The Tale of Lewis-Tyson

That it was one of the most exciting fights in the past 50 years of the sport, had one of the most memorable rounds in boxing history and led to one of the best trilogies in recent memory. Not to mention, 2 of the three fights were fight of the year.

whats legendary about 2 bums beating the shit out of each other
the fact that they produced one of the greatest fights of all time... that probably has something to do with it.
And i think we saw a very legendary fight last night. that was a looooong awaited confrontation, and it exceded every bit of hype that surrounded it.
AND REMEMBER GUYS, THEY HAVE TO BE HBO FIGHTS, CAUSE THATS ALL THEY DO THEM ON.
SHOWTIME should do something like this. like for corrales-castillo
I'd like to see HBO do a followup on the "Legendary Nights" series with a look at some of their more recent, high-profile and high-stakes fights. Barrera/Morales comes to mind. As well as Pacquiao/Morales. Shit, they could do an entire years worth of shows on just the Featherweight Division alone.
they did tyson douglas.
they should do the gatti/ward trilogy.
I think I remember seeing Gatti/Ward, but I'm not sure, maybe I'm thinking of something else, but yeah they should do that.
